I saw the Pickens Plan ad on TV last night. If the biofuels industry had his money we'd be in good shape. The ol' oil tycoon is right in most of his message. Such as FOSSIL FUELS are destroying the good ol' USA. I'm afraid his solution is just a way to make him more money though. You'd think at age 80 he would have enough money.
His idea of using wind energy to provide a good portion of our electrical needs should be implemented but his idea of using natural gas for transportation should be substituted with using BIOFUELS for transportation.
Download Sheryl Crow's song gasoline and let's use that as our anthem to help us get out of this mess.

Boone's plan is right on the button. It's about time someone stepped up to the plate and offered to spend a little money on something that will help us all. So what if he makes money, isn't that what free enterprise is all about. I hate it when someone picks on someone whose made money using his brain. I deeply admire him for his willingness at any age to put forth something the politicians haven't been able to get accomplished. We need more people like him.

FOSSIL FUELS are the problem. Pickens's solution is to use natural gas, a FOSSIL FUEL, to replace the oil that we get from the middle east. We do have a lot of natural gas in the United States but if you believe the scientists that are screaming about climate change then you need to use something that doesn't add new CO2 to the atmosphere.
The answer is BIOFUELS. Every American needs to turn to this new industry and embrace it by purchasing ethanol whenever possible instead of gas from the middle east. In the beginning the ethanol will be produced from corn but with time it will be produced from wastes in the timber industry, this will start next year in Georgia, it will be produced in Kansas from wheat straw, it will be produced in Iowa from corn cobs and stover, it will be produced from algae, etc.
We need to quit arguing about this and accept it.Pickens says that this is the greatest transfer of wealth in history. The quicker we slow those dollars going to the middle east the better.
