How do you know for sure your kid is dealing drugs?

I started noticing changes in my kid’s activities; other kids would come to the house and stay for about 10 minutes and leave and would not come in. My kid also would go outside to talk to them instead of bringing them in like usual. Then this started happening later and later at night. I checked the bedroom, but I couldn’t find anything. I tried checking my kid’s car, but I didn’t have a set of keys to get into the car. Then I find this “code book”. Each day has 2-3 letters with a dash and then 2-4 digits a decimal point then 2 zeros.

Please do not give me a lecture that his father and I did not give our kid attention or love, etc. and we were bad parents and we do not have problems.

Our kid was planned and prayed for and cherished from the moment of conception! Our kid grew up with loving parents, grandparents and a large close loving extended family. Both families have university backgrounds including his father and I. We also taught our kid that nothing in this world worth having is free, a good name is better than “riches and gold,” and your word you your bond, you break that and you have lost your integrity.

We recently moved here and knew no one. While we were eating in a pizza restaurant another kid started talking to our kid and that is how it all started.

What am I to do? How am I to be sure? What if my kid is dealing, what then? Maybe I am just an overly protective mom; but I would rather but that than to find out one night when a policeman knocks on my door. Please help me………

If your kid tries to sell you drugs you know for sure!

Short of that you can set him up if you have a mind and wish to do so.

Then again you can have a little faith and trust in the kid. Talk to him see if he gives you a good excuse.

There are several things he could be doing some good some bad. Every time a kid starts doing something we don't understand, or they change their behavior we think they arew up to something. You just moved he may be doing something that goes along with that chance. What he is doing now he may have been doing at the old location and you didn't even notice.

By the way, when a person has a statement to make which includes; don't blame us the parent, it usually means they have a feeling of guilt; otherwise it wouldn't have come up until someone brought it up.

My kids are raised and turned out a lot better than I did. But I am am another tail for another day.

We caught our kid this Sunday. We had of his things packed and ready for him to take when he can=me home from a visit to Gainesville. There was no denial, no anger with us, only anger with his on bad mistakes and the look of horror when called a drug dealer as if it was the first time he realized what he was doing. We had told him that if ever we found drugs he would be out of the house, money, food, and everything that would enable him to continue to use drugs. He knew that we were serious. Raising him we were always serious about carrying through with punishments, but if he came to us beforehand and told us before we found out about it the consequences were tempered with mercy.
Yes, I do feel guilty about moving; taking him from an environment of know good friend and dumping into an environment of kids that we nothing about and nothing about their parents and their values. I have yet to meet one of their parents. I only know a phone number and not a street address, I can’t send then a Christmas Card. I don’t know his friends; birthdays. Yes, I feel guilty.
He has decided on his own to go for help. I do not know where he slept Sunday night. Monday is he checked into a help center in Orlando. My prayers have been answered!
AS far as dealing before coming here, I doubt it. He changed after we moved and he had a couple of friend that I did not really care for.

I am truly sorry about your boy. Maybe it is good you found out now before something really bad came of it. Hopefully, he will get his life turned around. I sure would hate to think another kid has ended up like a lot of these folks I have to deal with on an almost daily basis.

im from bristol va, iam in trouble right now for dealing drugs. but, you cannot be mad at your kid for selling drugs. hes only trying to make mony the easy way. and the goverment doesnt like that. so they have controlled the whole nation and made it to look like the people that do drugs and deal drugs as the worst people in the world. your kid is only thinking about how to make the money and how to get his! not abou the people that are coming and leaving he could care less as long as he is making his money. the money is what keeps this world going. but regardless gas is 4 bucks a gallon, now tell me 6 dollars an hour is going to make you a way through life. regardless if you think you know what is best for YOUR son. he knows whats going on and you dont know what is. so leave your dumbass out of his life is you are over protective. I was convicted of intention to manufacture, possesion of a handgun with a schedule 1 or 2. and possession of marijuana. first of all the police in this world go home to their lives all HAPPY and GLAD that they didnt die and glad to see their familys when they have no idea what they just did to someones life. I have seen what these cops think. and they could give a fuck less what they catch and who they meet as long as they get that fucking pay check. it doestn really matter if they catch one person in this world, because first of all just like your son there is always gonna be some kid that really see drug dealing as what it is, and that is the economy proposition of dealing drugs. you get a half ounce of pot, selling 2 nickles out of the half ounce for 60 a piece and bam 70 dollars into 120 just in 2 sells. MONEY MADE IS MONEY MADE. get over this world and stop trying to change it. god chooses who to take and when to take them. drug dealin will only get you killed if you cheat someone. so if you wanna talk to your kid about anything. tell him to treat people right. and watch his fucking back. tell him not to cheat people and noone will ever kill your son.

Maybe if you had abided by the law, respected your parents and the life God gave you: and gotten an education you wouldn’t have to work for $6.00 an hour. I have heard and used a lot of excuses for doing things, but you are so ignorant you can’t even come up with a good excuse.
You should also learn to punctuate, buy a dictionary and improve you vocabulary. A half way intelligent person doesn’t have to cuss to try to make a point. To be honest I am surprised you were even able to read the previous posts.

Jacque i think you shouldnt be so quick to judge because i am quite sure you have made plenty of mistakes in your life also! I am an English Major with a full ride to a 4 year university that graduated 3rd in my class. I have attended church since i was 2 weeks old and am the president of the student body at my University. Last week i got busted for dealing marijuana. Now i made a mistake and im goin 2 pay for it, but all i was trying to do was make money the quick easy way because i have a part time job that i make about 300 dollars a month. Dealing i was making 300 dollars a day. I drive a brand new corvette that i bought without drug money. I dont look at myself as a criminal, I am a businessman that makes money the same way people at major corporations and smaller businesses do. By buying cheap and selling high. So judge me and tell me that i am a bad person! But i know that there are many other ppl out there (ex. murderers) that are doing things far worse than that kid or any of these other people!

If you are in fact so educated, you should be intelligent enough to see I did not judging the kid. I was speaking directly to this David; who isn’t really David anyway. Apparently you are not as intelligent as you wish someone to believe you were simply breaking the law, period. Unless the laws have change in the past few years you have also ruined any chances of going into many career fields.
Since you think you know about all my mistakes I have made in life, please inform me of them, also I would like for you to tell me my education level and the career I chose for myself. While you are at it tell me of the many worldly possessions I have and how I managed to get them with out breaking the law.
I am intelligent enough not to put my business on the street as many people in this area know me simply by my first name because of what I do. It certainly isn’t breaking any laws.
As for judging you yes, if you break the law you are in the wrong. I am sure if you have gone to court your defense of, I am not as bad of someone else, didn’t get you very far.
If you have so much money that you can by the car you say you have, why did you need to break the law by selling marijuana? Why, because you are lazy and greedy. I am sure the judge did or will agree with you on the I am like a corporation logic.
You are right there are a lot worse crimes on the books, but it is funny you would bring up murder, since you may have committed it by selling drugs (even marijuana) can and does cause death through different venues.
And the last thing I will say is that I truly doubt you were making a profit of $300.00 dollars day selling marijuana. Not that it can’t be done, I just doubt you were doing it. Not that you are probably doing well, but maybe you should get to studying instead of surfing the internet and responding to posts that are in a local you probably have never had the privilege to enjoy. I didn’t graduate with my 3.96 GPA by meddling into someone else’s business.

Don't you guys understand anything? It has nothing to do with the fact that you are just trying to make money the easy way, it's the fact that drug overdose related deaths and illnesses are an epidemic in the United States right now. The last thing you need to worry about is people thinking you're a lousy human being, you need to worry about a Judge knowing you have blood on your hands. You might not even realize it, but if you deal narcotics, you're making it possible for young men, and often even young kids to get a hold of drugs that kill thousands every year. And eventually, a pill, powder, or IV you sell is going to end up taking someone's life. It's not if it's when.

Jay...Do you understand that marijuana has NEVER killed anyone? I am sure,though, you could go to your local gas station and find many things that will, like alcohol, ephedra pills, tobacco, etc. All perfectly legal. Who's hands does that blood lie on?
