We the tax payers need to say no to Palos Fire Protection Districts "Rescue Tax".
I did some research and found Palos fire runs less then 3,000 calls per year. They have more manpower on duty the Alsip, Blue Island,Chicago Ridge, Crestwood, North Palos who run a lot more calls for service. Palos fire cut your manpower down first then look at your budget. You do not need 15 plus firefighters per shift as per what Captain Adams stated.

It is time for goverment entities to live within their means. We do not need another tax. Cut your fat. Does Palos Park need 15 firefighters per shift, a 5 man truck company? No. Stop hiring and lets get the manpower done to a normal level.

15 firefighters a shift for Palos Park? Come on that is over kill. What were the board and chief thinking. how many calls does Palos Park run? Not enough to justify 15 firefighters per shift. I am voting no!

We dont need any change in the fire department. if anything cut some of their guys. Because there are other municipalities that need it more. For instance the Police Department. They are always out protecting us and they dont just sit out front the station playing bean bags!

Very well said. I am voting no. Let them play bean bags on their own time.

That is why they are all ways so go at the beanbag tournaments. They have all day to practice and are being paid.

I agree we do not need the amount of manpower they have. Cut back on personnel and then come back and talk to us about more money.

I am voting no.

I encourage all voters to vote NO to this tax increase. I agree with all of the above comments. People are having difficulty buying food for their families and gas to go to work. I cannot bear another tax increase. It is time for government workers to feel the pain the public sector is experiencing. Staffing should be reduced, and from what I have seen, the equipment is operating just fine.

Maybe people should dial 6969 when they have a heart attact or the children are hit by a car. It's like the old saying wish in 1 hand and shit in the other and see what you you get.
