Hmmmm. Independent huh? Why is it that all of your "Independent" door drops and mailings say in very very fine print "PAID FOR AND PRINTED BY ALSIP U.P.A.A" The old Andrews UNITY PARTY. No lie check for yourself. How stupid does Quinn and that Worm Steve think the residents of this village are. What a gang of untrustworthy liars.

Yes, thats what we found out just after those so called Independents held a lunch for my friends and I at our complex. To be honest, we were outraged. Lost my vote and many others. Some nerve!

Well hopefully people will see trough all the lies and keep our Mayor, Clerk and re elect Shapiro, and elect Dwyer and Michaels, so our Village can again move forward

In all honesty, I couldnt agree more. Just the thought of having the UNITY PARTY controlling the majority of the village government again really scares me. Im all for a bi-partisan board with a true leader like Mr. Kitching at the helm. I was looking foward to see if any passionate true independents would petition to get on the ballot... yet none arose. Instead concerned, and passionate voters like myself, friends, and family recived a slate of U.P.A.A. candidates disguising them as "independent " even though, as the first poster stated, all of thier mailings and literature in fact does say in fine print "paid for and printed by the upaa" its so offensive and an INSULT to my Intelligence and all other informed voters.

My wife and I were looking for a trustee who would be independent yet a compliment to our current Mayors leadership.... I love the Action Party and everything they have accomplished... uprooting the dormant old UP, bringing new business, achieving our first ever AA bond rating, starting a land bank project already worth millions to the Village. But I was interested to see if someone would run a grass roots campaign for a Trustee position. In my opinion anyone who wants to remove our current mayor and clerk has got to be either uninformed or mentally unstable but i was still interested in the trustee race. Seeing my options, there is ABSOLUTELY no way we are going back in time and voting for ANY U.P. "independent" candidates. For me its Alsip Action all the way.
Strange isnt it

Funny how the "independents" (Unity Party) will go on every other Alsip Topix discussion to trash the mayor and the Action Party, yet they wont touch this discussion with a 10 foot pole. Pretty obvious they are afraid to admit the truth to people.

Isn't it ironic that we receive in our mail today a card from Jim Quinn that disputes the bullshit flyer that they distributed just two days ago. The one that has on shady video taping fool's flavor all over it.

If the mayor was behind this un-marked, no return address mailing, how and again I ask you HOW is it possible that less than 48 hours later we get a disputing card in the mail from Honest Jim Quinn.

The voters in this town are smarter than you are Jim. There is no way for you to react, print and mail/deliver a card that fast unless you already had it made up, which absolutely, without a doubt proves that your own party put together the lying (yes, of course nobody believed the Georgia arrest letter) piece of propaganda for a sympathy vote.

Very interesting how the rest of the independent candidates when talking to them are distancing themselves from it, with one even saying "I'm not saying anything".

I was pondering the same thing myself. How is it possible to send and deliver a responce like that so fast union printed, dye cut, The Works. Unless.... The Unity "independent " creeps were behind the bogus Quinn Arrested letter to begin with (Dun Dun Dunn!!!). Alsip Action has sent mailing after mailing with Quinns actual village website photo on it to every voter in the village, and now All Of A Sudden the AP sends out a "ghost letter" with a picture of someone who looks nothing like Quinn? YEA RIGHT!! Nice try... if you think residents will fall for that, your ethier very ignorant or very desperate. I betting your both. Jim Quinn Jim McG you equally sicken me.

I have been involved with the Village of Alsip since the mid 80's and in that time I have seen a lot happen and a lot that didn't happen. People have come and gone,
and unfortunately some have passed on. Of course being involved means working elections and I have worked them all many times, even when there was no opposition.
In 2005 the AP blindsided the UP and took it all. In 2005 my appointment was up on Planning and Zoning, and I told my wife that my days were numbered. I was surprised when Mayor Kitching reappointed me for another term. About a year or so later I finally met Mayor Kitching and came to realize that he had an open door policy, and I could actually sit down and talk to him, and he listened and acted on some of what I said, for the first time in over 20 years I felt that I was respected by our Village government. It was in late 2006 that the negotiations started with Harlem-Irving for what is now Home Depot- LA Fitness and more. Mr Quinn did everything in his power to try to derail that project. After almost a year of negotiations we were able to move on, and as everyone knows we can now shop at Home Depot in Alsip. Now it is 2013 and my commission will expire next month, I am no longer on Zoning and Planning, I have been the Chairman of Fire and Police for the last 3 years. I am asking all my friends to PLEASE VOTE ON TUESDAY and vote for the people who will again point Alsip in the right direction. There are many projects and programs that are being worked on, that we need to see completed, we need the ACTION PARTY'S COMPLETE SLATE to see these projects through.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Mayor Kitching is not a vindictive political guy at all hes only a man who truly cares about the future of the place he has called home his ENTIRE life. I distinctly remember a perfect example of this from his 1st election 2005... Vince Cullen Director of Public Works... his wife was running to everyone she knows in the village saying if Kitching wins her husband will be out of a job and they will be in financial distress... election day 2005... Vince Cullen passing Unity Party Propaganda at Worth Township on 116 and Pulaski openly making fun of Patrick Kitching right to his sons face who was there passing palm cards on his father and the action partys behalf heby calmly endured arrogant and rude rants from Vince and his other UP cohorts... Fast foward to April 2013... Director of Alsip Public Works Vince Cullen. Mayor Kitching could have had him removed many times yet has not because Vince is competent and does his job. When it comes to Mayor Kitching it truly is only business and not politics. He has proven that many times over and i wish him and his party nothing but the best.

You can't say that about Quinn. This despicable refusal to pay a small business owner in town monies owed after work completed was political, nothing more, nothing less. I am glad the AP delivered this letter and made me aware of how Quinn wanted to put this man out of business because he was a Kitching supporter.

Remember, we wouldn't have a Home Depot or an LA Fitness if Quinn had his way. He tried everything he could to kill that project. Funny thing is, he uses the LA Fitness.

Jim Quinn is bad for Alsip. He is too political. He is the Unity Party coming back and Daddona should know better. I can give a pass to the other three, Becker, Petzel, Murphy because they havent been around long enought to know the UP.

Flush the UP down the toilet with their leader Jim Quinn. This village is moving forward, not backwards with the UP.

Mayor Kitching has worked his entire life for people, starting with his distinguished military service and decades of putting his life in danger fighting fires in this village.

Jim Quinn has had the golden pacifier of the southside political machine. Patronage follows him and he speaks loudly of his patronage. We don't need this. This town was built and re-discovered 8 years ago on the backs of hard-working people, not political machines.
