You just sound bitter... You assume they were over code because there were more voters there than at your event. We certainly know there was no chance of being over code at your event since there were plenty of empty seats.
How much was the fine for the violation?

They all came with their wives and girfriends,,,off duty. Where did you get your info from? Alan Stevo stooges?
Which is it? they brought wives or girlfriends cause most that have wives also have girlfriends. Ask the fire chief why he left the event 15 minutes after it started he will tell you that it was over occupancy and wanted no part.

If we want to insult our police we would bring up the fact that 70 percent of them are to over weight to do the job. The police force is a complete disgrace as far as appearance, performance.

Just the top brass, as far as the weight goes. It seems to be a prerequisite. I know a few that have wives, girlfriends and mistresses for both.

Easy folks, dont bash the police officers on the street. They have no leadership. The blame starts at the top.Besides over code at beggers would be impossible. That would mean 60 people. There was not that many people. The fire cheif left, because he new that he will be replaced. As Tommy, and stevo will do. 21 days left, better put there houses up for sale. That way they can leave town in 2 years. Thats how real estate sells in Blue Island. Should of took a lesson from the mayor, and live in another town while Blue Island gets dumped on.

Gee judging by the incredibly huge turnout at the fundraiser at Beggars for Vargas...allot of people seem to think he is a more sane & viable candidate than Stevo or Brown. The cross-section of the attendance was was the cross section of Blue Island. He must be doing something right?
There were people from the east-side, south-side, north-side & west-side of Blue Island. The place was jammed. And it virtually took over the entire restaurant. People were pleased at what they heard and how they were given 1-1 treatment with answers that were coherent and plausible. No hysterical ranting or accusations of illicit crimes that were hurled during the CASA event. In fact most people thought the CASA event was staged and a joke. Gotta go with the people here. Vargas's people were polite and approachable. They did not make unbelievable promises or vowed to clean house as was suggested at the CASA event. Off duty Police & Fire men were there to be told that they were Blue Island's finest and not some sort of criminals as was suggested at the CASA event. Th voters there were pleased.
What bothers me the most is that Domingo couldn't be bothered to show up at the Salvation Army to meet the public but did show up for the fund raiser. The impression I get is that Domingo will only talk to you if there is money involved. It looks really bad Domingo.

I simply cannot vote for a man that rents and resides in an apartment. who cares if he owns the vacant lot across from mom and dad. Home ownership is key, the trouble with Blue Island is to much apts and to much sec 8.

WHO CARES!! I just want value for my tax dollars. Right now I can't trust either Tommy Brown or Alan Stevo to do that. Listening to their ranting and raving at the CASA event scared me to death. I met Mr. Vargas at a coffee meet in the 1st ward and I found him pleasant, informative, intelligent and very open in his feelings for Blue Island. There were many other citizens there who also felt the same. He is the logical choice to lead the town. I like the cut of him and he displays all the qualities of a man who has vision and energy. In my opinion I think all who were there will stand with him.

What are his plans, or visions and what energy will he bring with him to the table? Come on, do not let the voters guess. And all the qualities of what!!!

Can you tell here in this forum how are you going to get the value for your dollars with Vargas? Remember he is for JAWA, Home Rule plus consider also the unfunded pension liabilities and the huge debt plus he will hire a city manager, probably Peloquin,( for what, to continue what he had failed to do in 30 years!). You support all those? You must be paying an 'adjusted' tax rate than the rest of us that's why you want to retain the value for your tax dollars. Just a member of the preferred club...

Without paying property taxes, how is this contributing to the city? Taxes on a vacant lot doesn't add up to much of a contribution. What is the stake in our community?

If you really want to know about how much Domingo cares about BI, just take a look at the property at 119th and Vincennes and ask yourself why Domingo as an alderman didn't enough to clean up that mess.
