Even though you don't know who I am (and for my sake I hope you never find out) I apoligize for anything I have done, may have done or might do to you in the future.
Oh and your husband, He's got to be a saint!
One more thing observer, do you have any favorite charities we can contribute too?
Cat Scratch fever indeed. I may have raved a little. I think you would be able to handle me, most can't, but you never know. LOL. Follow your own conscience on the charities.

Once again please, moderate the discussion. Think of "spin" as the beginning of "spinning out of control". And this is the No Spin Zone. Most adults don't find the anatomical references necessary.

We at least know that Observer is a female who hates the Mayor and likes to be complemented. You can hear her almost gushing. I think the doubled howdy was really just messing with her.

You had two choices and you picked female. You win. Good for you, but you are not getting the "booby prize", or any other prize from me. Gushing after a complement? I get the sexual connotation, and should ignore it, but don't we all like compliments? I did go over the top in my comments and will take a cleansing breath, compose myself and take a few stilleto-step backwards. I appreciated the Aerosmith reference and I was responding to that. I like Aerosmith. Lots of females don't care for the Mayor in case you were wondering. Too old. Too crude. I will now go back to watching from the sidelines, where I truly belong.

Is Chicago Ridge Mayor Gene Siegel Too Old and Out of Touch?

Sources report that incumbent Chicago Ridge Mayor Gene Siegel is preparing to run for re-election in April 2009. These sources report that he will face a formidable opponent in Village Trustee Dan Badon. Badon has live in Chicago Ridge for years and has raised his family here, and will be well funded. Sources say one of the issues that Johnson will push is whether current Mayor Siegel is too old and out of touch. Siegel is reportedly close to the same age as Republican Presidential candidate John McCain, and has faced health concerns in the past. Is this an issue that Badon can make hay with in the race? Why or why not?

Can anyone answer one simple question? Who is this Ricky dude that everyone talks about? Is it someone involved in town politics? Humor me and just answer this one question.
Who ever he is he seems to get blamed for a lot of stuff!

He is assigned to board meetings by Don to get the poop and report back. I think Ron the old guy is assigned to watch him. Some spy network.

It must be assumed that all Village business is done in the open and reported on in the minutes and the newspapers. Why would anyone need their own reporter? When residents attend public meetings it must be assumed they are simply interested in participating our democracy.

To the Spin and Moan Zone combo. In this blog it is not necessary to post a question and then answer yourself in a separate post. Just say what you want to say without running someone else down. I have posted lots of questions and made lots of statements here to set the tone. Feel free to do the same -- without "spin".

Everyone who attends Village Board meetings is participating in our democracy. These are open meetings where it is assumed that Village Board business is being discussed in the open. The Open Meetings Act requires that all meetings of Village Boards of Trustees be open to the public. More members of the community should attend Village Board Meetings that is what the Village Hall is for.

Additionally, when Trustees meet as a Village Board at Village Board meetings, is the only time that they have any power over village business. After the meeting ends, the State laws hold that they have no more authority than any other citizen. So if you want to see the Village Board do their jobs, and evaluate them, we all need to go to a Village Board meeting once in a while.

Today's Southtown has the following story about state officials, but Chicago Ridge needs a law like this too because the rumors are that the Mayor's "inner circle" is planning a handoff of the mayor's office. Mayor Gene would get elected and quit right away for a health or family reason. Then the trustees would pick the new mayor. If I didn't hear two of them talking about it I wouldn't post it. This is what they are saying in Springfield:

The Illinois House's top Republican said Tuesday he's crafting legislation designed to stop the longtime practice of outgoing elected officials anointing their successors without any say from voters.

"Politicians in both parties have abused the current system to ensure that handpicked candidates don't have to go through the full nomination and election process," House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego) said at a Chicago news conference. He said such maneuvers rob "the voters of the opportunity to decide who truly represents them."

Dear Citizen, Key word here is "RUMORS". Question is which two were talking and why.
FACT: If Gene runs he will win 3 to 1.
I think if you got every vote from every negative poster on TOPIX, you and the 4 others couldn't win a Pilsbury baking contest.

I am trying to get on the school board first, then move up to government(trustee) maybe. Last school board election I was courted by a couple of teachers to run for a seat and passed it up. This time I am ready.
So howdy doody, you want to run for public office, do you have the character and honesty to reveal your true identity here so we can connect the candidate with multitude of comments and opinions you've expressed here?

Okay. You missed the part in my own previous post where I said that Mayor Gene would win. At the recent parish golf outing at the local sports bar, someone I was standing with turned and asked Mike Davies the golf outing chairman "when are you running for mayor?" his answer was "After Gene wins the next one, he'll probably step down early...." Another trustee was part of that conversation. I was mildly interested. I did not record it or get depositions. So Knock off the insults. Elected officials get criticized sometimes about the jobs they are doing AND the things they say. I do think Gene would win the next election.

It is laughable that my character and honesty are being questioned by people hiding behind fake names. My political aspirations are real but my need to feed into the slander on topix is just not there.
