I just talked to a couple village employees and they said they heard the same thing. 7-11 is pulling the plug in town on Nov.28th. If this happens who will be next.

I hope Mr. Lang has something up his sleeve, maybe the majic Dollar Tree store he keeps talking about.Or maybe the grocery store chain.

Indeed "just hold". Not a bad guess to hazard.

Clyde, I hadn't heard this, but it doesn't entirely surprise me given their history with theft/robbery. And the Dollar store is held up because of the property owner that wants big dollars for her dilapidated property. I struggle to remain confident that will ever open.

If 7-11 does close, that location wont be empty for long. That's a prime piece of real estate.

Maybe Lang can get some Nextel antennas installed on the roof for some revenue?

Oh no, prime real estate never stays vacant in this town. I'm all in for another sex motel. If we can use home rule to tax condemns we might have something. I am sure Lang and Terry have something up their sleeves, they have done wonders so far.

There is no such thing as prime real estate property in Midlothian.

and having an Aldi in Midlo would probably put the one in Oak Forest out of business....not the other way around

Also, Watson could have environmental issues and most definitely requires an IEPA inspection prior to any development. Remember, there are gas tanks in the ground and other issues just like what we saw at 147th/Cicero. It's most likely that another used dealer would have to end up in there long before any developer would be interested. With so little development going on now compared to just a few years ago, they are going to take the easiest land to work with, and a former used car dealer isn't necessarily the ideal location.

Holy cow 5, it's been 45 minutes since you posted and your personal troll hasn't done anything to harass you yet. Either that person is starting to mature or it's nap time, one of the two.

Aldi who by the way owns Trader Joes, is a German Company and they refrain from having stores in neighboring towns. They like to have a town seperating their stores in the suburbs. You can get some good buys at Aldi. Its brand name produts some times the product was cut wrong or a little of color.Their wine Charles Shaw(2buck chuck) is from a vinyard in California of which they own. WE buy many things at Aldi. Those potatoe chips are terrific and that frozen Berry Berry pie is better than Bakers Square. Some of their soups aren't that good I must admit. They are starting to bring in many items from Germany. Bannas are usually 25 cents a pound.
