Who do you think would be a good Alderman for the 2nd Ward?

I think this upcoming election is an opportunity for the residents of the second ward to send a message to the city, including Peloquin, the Billotto's Spizzirri, and Vierra that they are not the leaders we need to represent our city or the 2nd ward. They're track record and lack thereof is proof enough. Who do you think would be a good Alderman who would work for the residents of the 2nd ward?

One has to be certain that the mayoral candidates will have a full slate. Unfortunately the main players have ties or past ties to the current administraton. It's time for some independents to step up.

You'll have to ask Bobby Rita. He's already picked 2nd, 3rd and 7th with a nodding Vargas. The election is over before it ever began.

If this is true, proof positive that the Peloquin and Rita group have always been working together. They will come to your door for your votes and lie to you, tell you they are against each other. But, they can be beat. Semper fi

Is "what about you" the only intelligent thing you can say. The thread was started to get some dialog going between the residents of the second ward, not the 1st ward. The residents of the 2nd ward have suffered greatly by the hands of the current administration. Especially with the closing of the bridges and still no plans have been put in place to reopen them. They just choose to ignore the problem, allowing them to deteriorate more.

Don't be absurd, there are candidates slated for each ward with Vargas, Hauser, and Carmine.

I'm voting for Rita's slate. He'll get those bridges open and appoint a better police chief

Spoken like a true agitator with nothing to lose. You will wait until Kingdom come and those bridges will not be fixed. And why? LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR SO YOUR CLOUDED MIND CAN UNDERSTAND....THERE IS NO MONEY..PERIOD. THERE HASN'T BEEN MONEY LAID ASIDE FOR THE BRIDGES BECAUSE OF THE SHORT SIGHTNESS OF NOT ONLY THE PEOPLE OF THE 2ND WARD BUT OF THEIR POLITICAL & CIVIC LEADERS. Where are they suppose to get the money?
AND please do not bring up the same tired lame plethora of BS. Yes we know the City Council, the Township and the State screwed up..that's old news. Raise the taxes in town? Yeah the rest of the townspeople will be jumping for joy over that. Just so you numbnuts in the 2nd can cover your butts so you can cross the river at your leisure. Hell no. You should have raised a fuss when the bridges were going to be taken over by the town back then...not now!!

Correct! Because most have done nothing for anyone but themselves, they need to be voted out.

You are free to ride the peloquin/rita party bus.
I will Not Ride with You.

Boycott and vote out all of the candidates who have done everything for themselves and nothing for "All of US"! Ain't gonna let nobody turn me round, turn me round, turn me round.

I've thought about running but considering the unrealistic expectations of what a single alderman can actually get done, it just seem a thankless job. Like any elected position, the reality you find once you get there is very different than the vision from outside. And the criticism and sniping is just relentless, as witness the overheated and intemperate comments usually posted here. Why would anyone of intelligence and sensitivity want to take on all that?

There is only one good reason to run; "To be of service to "All of US".
Good person(s) can make a difference.

Such fervor should not be wasted on this Blog site. Why don't you run? Or is it better for the other guy to suffer the slings & arrows while you sit on the side throwing rotten tomatoes like other pathetic degenerate fools like you.

There is a long history of residents being mistreated with name calling, abusive suggestions, and actions like whipping. We hear you and we are not the names you call us; fools, idiots, or morons. We don't need whipping or name calling from anyone. Career politicians have ignored the public, wasted tax dollars, an audit, and people willing to work for the public are what is needed.....here.
