Don is the Mayor ... whether we approve it or not. Personally I like Don - he's a sharp guy. I think he has surrounded himself with people that are sucking this city dry ... the COALITION party.

Running a city is no small challenge ... just think of the issues that come up in raising a family ... or planning an event ... you have to get our representatives credit for stepping up to bat on one hand.

Given Don's desire to move to Congress and the fodder that has taken place over the past several years and the decline in our city and quality of life here it is time for a change.

It is time for passionate and committed people that still believe in our town to get involved. We need to build on the diversity we have in Blue Island. We need to capitlalize on new ideas ... new energy ... and revitalize BLUE ISLAND!!!!

Section 8 and Chicago have ruined blue island. Because Don has been around so long, is the only reason Blue Island hasn't become a Harvey, a Riverdale, a Dolton, or a Cal Park. Lets see what the next mayor can do. I have a feeling that the people here that complain about "Don", are going to be missing him when he's gone because they may see just how fast Blue Island becomes a much worse neighborhood. Besides, he's been mayor for about 30 years give or take... He must be doing something right. Keep complaining you idiots. You will be complaining, no matter who the mayor is.

Doing something right for who? For the frasor-peloquin team? To continue hiring more and more people to win the election? At all cost to the taxpayers? Know it all, what happened to all the money?Look at the uptown area, vacant stores, where is the tax base? More and more Federal lawsuits, WHY? He was never taught the proper way to treat people! What a wasted man

Taxpayer money to no bid contracts, appointments for professional services, while the bridges were closed, essentials neglected, more hires, increasing bond debt, multiple lawsuits, financial records withheld from the golf course for years, and when the aldermen voted against the reappointment of the golf course manager; Peloquin put him back in anyway. No way to run a business, no way to run a city and just plain wrong.

The bridges were closed to keep the attackers out! Great move IMO.

And yet he was voted to remain in officer for as long as he has. Maybe you're not familiar with what's happening ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. It's called recession. Businesses are closing all over, not just BI.
Funny thing the same tactics that have kept Peloquin in Power will now defeat him in the upcoming election. Poetic justice, karma, what comes around goes around, etc.

Taxpayer money to no bid contracts, appointments for professional services, bridges unfunded and closed, essentials neglected, more hires, increasing bond debt, multiple lawsuits, no financial records from the golf course for years, that money could have repaired bridges and streets. Why when the aldermen voted against the reappointment of the golf course manager; did Peloquin put him back in anyway? How did the republican candidate for congress care for hard working families who reside in Blue Island? Why is there a 43 million dollar debt, why have the streets and sidewalks been repaired parallel to the properties of party supporters and the remainder continue to crumble? Why is the Blue Island municipal pension under funded? This is No Way to run a City or a District.
Wrong for the municipality and people of Blue Island and wrong for the 1st Congressional District.
