Well, I did not vote for her, but Mary Weiner is doing a great job as a trustee for worth. It was the right thing to put her in office. Kind of a check and balance thing going on now. Maybe we should consider next election getting one more of steve's connections a seat?

I think she'll make a better mayor than randy kellar. the town is full of people with long memories and all they have to dois look back to the village sign he posted back when his home rule idea didn't pass when he pushed for it...he wasn't able to follow thru with his threats once mary got on broad. steve is a polarizing individual and agree or disagree with him or his motives, you have to admire someone that speaks their mind instead of hanging around on a computer all the time. I've heard nothing but great things about mary and you can't say the same of keller

two years ago the Mayor informed us all that the village was broke. He tried to get home rule passed and that failed. He then went on a rant threatening cuts across the board. then the next election he put the 1% sales tax increase on the ballot. Again he was quoted saying the village was broke and if it didn't pass then we might have to shut down the village.
Now today not even two years later the village is supposedly booming. We have so much money that there has been new hires, raises, and an increase in spending like we are richy rich. And worst yet he is going out of his way to change ordinances allow people to get benefits, on tax payers dollars, they shouldn't be getting because they are barely part-time workers. We have new signs going up, new carpet wall to wall in the village hall, new fancy chairs in the village meeting room, and more streets being paved in history.( mind you most of the money for the streets was a grant). Lets not forget that we gave the crossing guards pay increases when just barely a year and a half ago he threatened the school and the people that he would not be paying for them anymore. Forcing the school to agree to pay half the salary just to keep the kids safe.
Point is for a village that was so broke how is it that a couple of hundred K from a sales tax increase was somehow able to bring us into the light. Was the tale of how broke we are a lie? Did the mayor not understand the true financial situation? I think we must all go to a board meeting and demand answers to this before we decide on who to vote for.....

Verne-my comments weren't about how bad or good anyone is doing.
They were stating simple truths and its those truths that have me worried. You obviously support the mayor and that's fine but what about my comments? Have you any answer to them?
I voted for randy last election but I will not just give him blind support.

the village was broke if you went to meetings and asked what was going on in the village. all the cuts the the mayor and board made helped same money.

Things donít add up. If you attended meetings you would know that what cuts he made along with the new sales tax doesnít come close to the deficit our mayor was quoted as stating we had. Just over two years ago,(Nov 2010), he stated the village was 1.7 MILLION in debt. Home rule failed and he threatened and made cuts. A couple of layoffs, eliminating OT, and stopping the leaf vac to name a few. April 2011 he asked for and received the 1% sales tax increase. We started collecting that money mid summer of that same year. That amount plus 2012 new revenue total about 600-650K.
According to the last audit we have about 150K in surplus. So that means that somewhere since home rule failed the village has made up over 1.2 million in lost revenue. Or at least that is roughly the total if you believe the original 1.7 million deficit that the mayor said we had. I can tell you with absolute certainty that we have not made 1.2 million in cuts that last two years. So where did the money come from?
Plus again if you attended meetings you would know that he has given out raises, bought 5 or 6 new vehicles between the police and public works begun to hire back and hire new employees and change ordinances so that part time appointed individuals can now receive medical insurance at tax payer dollars. Many of these new expenses have been made during fiscal year 2011 and 2012. So that means that in the same time he supposedly made 1.2 millions in cuts the village was also able to make many new purchases.
Explain these facts please. Either the 1.7 million was a lie or the mayor doesnít understand the village finances. Either one of that scares me.

Sorry Verne but while I view the postings on this site I tend to not pay them much mind. that is mainly because of trolls like yourself who post under fake names like a coward ranting about things and making comments without fact or truth behind them. That being said its good to see others asking questions. Its not about right or wrong its about making sure our village stays strong no matter the leadership. I hope this election can be about the facts with honest debate allowing the voters to make an informed decision.
Have a great day!

who still lives with his dad and is there a law out there that says you have to own a home to run for office?
I like the 3 trustees up for reelection. I think the village would be in capable hands if they were all re elected.

Mary voted YES for every vote that came up while she was on the board. She along with all the trustees stick together with Randy leading them. Does not make sense to me she now wants to complete against Randy. Also, Mrs Price too??? Randy has always had her back, and NOW she decideds to put her name on the ballot with Mary.

Bonnie Price was not on Randy Keller's ticket in the last election. She was on Guzdziolís ticket along with Mary Werner.

nobody is running on the ballot together. everyone is an independent this time. people are putting their names on signs together though to probably save money.

If your name is on a Randy sign , you are a Randy puppet not an independent.
I also think this kid that's running is a good thing. It would be nice to have some young blood on the board. Hopefully if he wins he wont be intimidated by Randy , like the rest of them. That being IF Randy wins

If you are on a sign with Keller you are not an independent! You are a keller puppet McElroy muersch and Werner are independents. I think this kid muersch is some fresh blood for this village. It will be his town in the future and we need some young folks getting involved.
