Truly a tragedy all around. A dead kid and another whose life will be permanently marred by incarceration. Jail is not kind to an 18-year-old kid but he will have to bear responsibility for his mindless act by doing time. It amazes me that kids still engage in physical fights over meaningless taunts. To prove what?

Taylor Buckley finally got caught hurting someone. The kid has been a bully for years and finally will have to pay for his actions. He took a persons life and he'll think twice before hitting or mouthing off to anyone again. This is one time his parent can't clean up his mess for him. Do not forget he killed someone? This was no accident. This could have been my child that night at the game. Lock this problem child up.

This is not the first time Taylor Buckley has been in trouble. He's been punching and verbally abusing kids at Carlmont. Taylor has been out of control for sometime and his parents just make excuses for him. Poor little rich kid. This time he can't blame a black kid from East Palo Alto.

Video games, movies and television portray a punch to the head as something almost comical, with that 'billiard ball' sound; but the victim always jumps back up again without a scratch... This death, and many others, is part of the price we pay for allowing TV , film, and gaming to TWIST and WARP our childrens perception of reality. I saw it coming. Did you?

"He gets in normal fights with guys." What kind of idiot Carlmont student would say that about a murderer?
"you wouldn't back them up either?" Great, I got your back just like a cowardly gang member.
If fights are normal to you, then don't cry when you take a life and lose your life. A tragedy is an accidental house fire or car accident. These two played their parts perfectly.

I have been close friends with Taylor since I was in grade school. He and his family are great people. He is not a bully. He is not someone who walked around with something to prove. He is not someone out looking for trouble. He is a fun loving person who made a small mistake that turned into a big horrible situation. What he did could have happened to almost anyone. Who hasn't punched, pushed, or physically done something to someone that could have fallen over at some point in their life? The situation ended in the worst way possible and it is absolutely horrible for both sides, Anthony & family, and Taylor & family. Disregard anyone who speaks upon Taylor without the knowledge I have. He was a great friend, a rational and genuine person with a big heart. I am here for Taylor because I know he would be for me, that is the type of person he is. I hope everyone can try to put themselves in his shoes. There was nothing close to a murder that occured here, but instead a terrible accident that no one could have forseen. Please show your sympathy, understanding, and support for both the Giraudo and the Buckley family.

Please show your sympathy, understanding, and support for both the Giraudo and the Buckley family. You are delusional if you believe everything you wrote to be of a finite nature. You throw the word GREAT - FUNLOVING and RATIONAL around like that is something special. All people were born with those traits. Later on as we grow - we lose some of the priviledges and good characterisics that we were born with and some like Buckley - still seem that way to people like YOU. Its not that simple. This was in the MURDER "family". Don't try to minimize it by saying - Anthony - "hit the ground" - or that this could have been "anybody". None of us know everything about the ones we consider our friends or associates. One never sees the demons that lie inside those that have urges. Like some other poster said - House Fires that wipe out an entire family or a violent car crash that kills its occupants is a tragedy. This was Involuntary Manslaughter at the least. Kamala Harris gave TB back some of his incarcerated life. He will serve the rest of his sentence when he deals with it on the outside. Bill Sheldon Tower Road San Mateo

Buckley family has finally been caught threatening, terrorizing people. Those who were not victim to Buckley's - good for you. Read the other posts, they know. If you were in their good graces, don't turn your back on the wrong stuff. I have had it on two accounts, neither I can say, from Taylor. But my son with his little brother who for four years used his big brother to threaten anyone he didn't like. "My brother will kick your ass". He also did the shove in the back after my son said, "I don't want to fight you". My son walked away and was shoved in the back, to the ground. He had taken repeated pot shots when teachers were not looking. I also have a recording of the mother threatening me and my family after we asked for mediation to find out why was there a problem. We didn't go thru with it because of the mothers threat. Later to see the school slide it under the rug. No, this isn't Taylor. This is his family's MO - mode of operation. There is no accident you should not take consequences for when you cowardly attack. I am sick of hearing about poor Taylor. What about the Giraudo family who didn't get to say goodbye to their son? Same page today Examiner. 21 year old ex-boyfriend gets 11-21 years for forced rape. Buckley gets 4 years for killing someone? No, this is not right. Interesting, we can empathize with someone who has such disregard for life over a family who has lost a son forever. I am sorry for Taylor but DUDE... you get what you give! Giraudo family, God bless Anthony and your family.

Friend, do you really know the Buckley's? Was that plural? Yes. Or are you one of those people who are on the good side and look the other way when they wreak havoc on others? I wonder? You see, the right thing for a family to do is to apologize openly, publicly to this family for their loss. Since it was supposedly an accident. Sucker punched...Like shooting someone in the back. No, won't happen. And if so, only to help his case.

The Buckley's are a neighborhood nightmare and have been for years. I hate to say it, but none of us were suprised that something this awful happened. It was only a matter of time. It's the house where the parents are never around, drinking and drugs are sure to be found and parents who can's seem or don't want to discipline their kids. I feel for the Giraudo family. Perhaps this tragedy might finally wake the Buckley parents up that parenting is not a part time job. It sure would be nice to hear them publicly apologize to the Giraudo family rather than scrambling to get his bail reduced so they can get him out.

I have three boys and they have never gotten in "regular fights with boys". It sounds like to me that Buckley's a bully! I hope he gets what he deserves.
