I am going to be traveling to China in August, just after the olympics end. Earth Quakes are very weird. I recently felt the tremors from the one in the Chicago area. I pray for all of the students and their families. Has the Tribune posted any photos yet?

Events like this remind us of how little we are in the universe and how little control we actually have. I hope the death toll doesn't go to where it did in 1976 there.

The world is coming to an end; no one notices. Interesting. To busy worrying about inflation, recession, depression.

Well, we can get busy living, or get busy dying. As far as the world coming to an end, don't be so pessimistic, we'll be fine.

You know this always happens. My boyfriend is in China right now because he is a flight attendant. I have no way to find out where he is or whats going on. There always seems to be an earthquake wherever he goes. Lets just say I am slightly worried. And to the other victims thats a terrible thing to happen in the middle of the afternoon. The Earth be gettin angry!- lol

I just wish we had a time & a date so I can buy the six-pack and break out the lawn chairs.

Mr. Impatient, it's always time to buy a six-pack and break out the lawn chairs.

President Bush has offered the U.S.'s full assistance to China in the wake of this earthquake. The new Olympic stadium in Bejing had a major question of whether it could withstand a large earthquake. Any news on whether it was damaged?

Noop, the new Olympic stadium in Bejing is fine. The earth quake spot is far from Beijing, but we still felt the earth quake today.
This is sad.Pray for the people suffering pain.

In chinese tradition, 8 is a lucky number. The year 2008 is expected to be a happy year. With what happened now, either due to act of human or God, this is not a good year. Pray to all people.

I heard rumors that the earth quake is caused by the huge dam that was built in the same area ten years ago.

Maybe the Olympics will be canceled or moved to another country and the US will be off-the-hook for making any decision as to boycotting a Red Chinese Olympics. Fingers crossed.

You can relax your fingers. This will not happen.
