This is an absolutely wonderful story on a very important topic. This represents a truely momentous occasion for the water conservation movement. Many thanks to all who made this project become a reality!

We passed our City Inspection for the EcoHouse Graywater system on January 24th.
We will be having an open tour Sunday Feb. 25th from 10am to 2pm.
Thanks for your article.

I attended the Feb. 25 tour and was greatly impressed by the functionality and beauty of the EcoHouse graywater system. It's so wonderful to see water that would just go to waste used in such an efficient way.

As an avid gardener, I was happy to see how happily the EcoHouse plants were growing. I hope that Contra Costa County follows Alameda County's lead in allowing residential gray water systems. Then more of us will be able to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to conserve water.

I am trying to find a system designed for "critical Areas".

A combination of a waterless composting toilet and a gray water disposing system that does not require a leaching or drain field. Planters with layered material to filter house water and water plants

I heard a story about this on NPR today and googled grey water to read more about it.

I've lived in CA for about 33 years and have been through a number of serious droughts. I'm worried that we are going to have another cylcle of droughts -- and would like to figure out how to conserve water and keep my landscape and garden!

thanks.

Nice work Doug Oakley! And Eco-house. I'd like a gray water system, too. We don't have a garden...
