Barack Obama Leads In Swing State Polls Of Virginia, Ohio And Florida
President Barack Obama holds a 5-point lead over Mitt Romney among likely voters in Florida and Virginia, and a 7-point lead in Ohio, according to polling released Thursday evening from NBC, the Wall Street Journal and Marist.
In Florida and Virginia, 49 percent of likely voters supported Obama, and 44 percent Romney. In Ohio, 50 percent supported Obama, and 43 percent backed Romney. Obama won all three states over Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in 2008, but Florida especially would be a crucial win for Romney.
Obama has a 49 percent approval rating in Florida and Virginia, and 50 percent approval in Ohio, among likely voters.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday approved a stopgap measure to fund the government for six months and eliminate any threat of a government shutdown fight that could damage lawmakers' re-election hopes.

After spending much of the past two years fighting over cutting government spending, the Republican-controlled House voted 329-91 to slightly raise spending from current levels. Votes in favor were evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.

The bill, which heads to the Senate for a vote expected by next week, will be the last piece of substantive legislation passed by Congress before the November 6 presidential and congressional election. It must be signed into law before September 30, when current government funding runs out.

"We have to pass this important bill to maintain the continuity of our government and to prevent its shutdown," said Representative Harold Rogers, the Republican chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

The spending measure eliminates one task that Congress needs to complete before it wrangles over the year-end "fiscal cliff" of expiring tax cuts, automatic spending cuts, a debt limit increase and other fiscal deadlines.

Of course they will pass the bill,,,,or they dont get paid,,,Republicans dont want to cut spending,,,,they just increased it!

Today's Presidential Polls
We have 12 presidential polls in nine states today. The main news is that Obama is ahead in Colorado, Florida, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Virginia. The only swing state where Romney leads is Missouri. Actually, this is not really news since the situation has more-or-less been like this for months. Obama's lead in these states but it has been stable that way for so long that there is little doubt he is ahead in the key states. Obama's persistent lead may explain why Romney is now hitting Obama on foreign policy for the first time. He may have concluded that attacking on the economy simply isn't working as too many people still blame George W. Bush for the mess, not Obama.

A senior citizen said to his eighty-year old buddy:
'So I hear you're getting married?'
'Do I know her?'
'This woman, is she good looking?'
'Not really.'
'Is she a good cook?'
'Naw, she can't cook too well.'
'Does she have lots of money?'
'Nope! Poor as a church mouse.'
'Well, then, is she good in bed?'
'I don't know.'
'Why in the world do you want to marry her then?'
'Because she can still drive!'

A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlour and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool... After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly,'Crushed nuts?'
'No,' he replied,'Arthritis.'

Couple in their ninetiesare both having problems remembering things. During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember ..

Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says,'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says,'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.
'Where's my toast?'

An elderly couplehad dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said,'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.'
The other man said,'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said,'Whats the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know, the one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled,'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?

Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.
A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said,'You're really doing great, aren't you?'
Morris replied,'Just doing what you said, Doc:'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.''
The doctor said,'I didn't say that.. I said,'You've got a heart murmur; be careful

truly sad that the right wing would stand upon the cooling bodies of American dead to further their political aims.

As long as the religious zealots in any population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens.

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails, homeless shelters, rehab programs and among street gangs.

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

For example, they will push for the introduction of “moral beliefs” thereby removing free choice under the guise of proper “morals”.

They will increase pressure communities and try and squelch the voice of those that oppose -- along with threats of dooms day if the population oppose.

When extremists approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions, introduce fear through false information.

In the United States , we are already seeing Christian extremists that can not think for themselves and are guided by fear. They act as if the sky is falling and in a state of constant panic.

In the U.S, right wing extremists are attacking their own citizens. Making movies, and spreading filth that only make situations more dangerous for those serving to protect them.

Any non-Christian action offends Christians and results in lies, fear mongering and threats.

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger decision making, right wing militia formations, sporadic killings, and the start of wars to eliminate sinners.

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent actions, some State-run ethnic cleansing, executions, hangings, torture, crucifixions and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the sinners, and move toward 100% worship of false gods.

"Shoot first, ask questions later" is from Nazi Hermann Göring.

But, the phrase has become a common colloquialism in the US.

Its been used in movies/TV for decades before Carter's unmemorable use.

Generally used in such a way as to mean "Kill them All." Another variation is "kill them all, let God sort it out."

The Obama reference is totally different - more directed to the context and events that precipitated it, and not a military engagement.

The Egypt as "ally" thing - he sort of stepped in it on that one!

I think he was referring to the friendliness of the new government and perhaps used the term "ally" a little too loosely..outside of its legal meaning.

Its like saying "Obama doesn't have many allies in the GOP" or "Romney has few Conservative allies"

The WH spokesman's attempts to backpedal didn't help (the "legal term of art" BS). They didn't seem to acknowledge Egypt's Non-NATO ally status. Finally the State Dept had to step in and issue the final word.

Non-NATO ally status is a George H.W. Bush "new world order" construct. Also on the list, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

OK porch 'liberals' who claimed Obama only signed the NDAA to fund the military, and the indefinite detention clause was not to his approval.

It was struck down:

"Judge Katherine Forrest, a New York federal judge, struck down a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act that allows Americans to be indefinitely detained just for being accused of supporting terrorist groups."

Obama Has Already Appealed The Indefinite Detention Ruling

Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/unbelievable-o...

BECAUSE HE WAS ALWAYS for it - plain and simple, and the left wing paradigm stuck fools believe his hogwash, that he 'had to' sign it to fund the military and his bogus signing statement here:

Wake up people, they asked for it, they wanted it, now they are appealing for it to remain in tact.
