Folmer raises some excellent points. What I don't understand is why he voted for a budget that appears to way over inflated.

Senator Folmer is way off base here. Glad to know his true colors and that he is not the friend of education he professes to be. I'd like to see him do more with less.

Where was Folmer wrong? The schools are getting roughly $10,000/kid a year. Isn't that enough?

I just got my school tax bill; explain to me why I should be paying more money to the PSEA when I have to cut expenses at home because of the inflated price of energy?

I've written to senators and representatives. State subsidies up anywhere from 4 to 6.8%. My school taxes (palmyra) are up 3.2%. And don't forget the per capita taxes. Which probably cost more to collect than they are worth.
In the Palmyra school district alone, since 2000, 1100 new home building permits had been applied for. At the average- and the average includes all older homes, at the average of $2500 for school taxes, that is $2,750,000 in revenue EACH YEAR. 3.2% of that is $88,000. How much money do they need? And lets not forget the homestead act money. Wow. A whole $55 off my assessment. Glad they gave me that or my taxes would have increased by 4.7%. Luckily I got a 1% raise this year to cover my taxes, gasoline, fuel oil, and food increase.

It is time for the state to make teachers pay for their own health insurance just like 90% of the taxpayers out there.
