Even at 15 mph you could strike and kill someone walking between 2 cars. And thanks for asking the hard hitting question, "maybe he was on something?" I'm sure the cops think of this while investigating ANY and EVERY fatal accident. And also, your prayer was needed prior to the accident. Perhaps god was busy with another alter boy. I feel for yours! Cheers.

There are a lot of people on the road who truly have tunnel vision. A few weeks ago, near where I live, a pedestrian was struck by a car making a right turn at a high rate of speed. It is near a freeway.

The area gets jammed up very easily during rush hour traffic. The person making a right turn likely did not see the pedestrian (because sometimes the cars make it hard for people to see) in time because the driver didn't bother looking. They just wanted to beat the yellow arrow warning that the right turn light was ending. This could have been prevented if the driver yielded, as that is what the yellow signal on any traffic function means. Too many of them blast through that right turn as if they have a pregnant woman in the back of the car.

Then you have those with really bad tunnel vision, where all they can do is see straight. The same applies when they are making turns and merging on the freeway. When I was a child, I was in car accident when my step-father tried to merge on the freeway. He completely turned around looking back for about 6-7 seconds, going at a high rate of speed immediately (he liked to drive fast), not realizing that a car pulled in front of him. And he didn't bother to listen to my warning.

He was also not intoxicated. It was just a severe case of tunnel vision combined with a complete lack of acknowledgment on being completely aware of your surroundings.

There needs to be more accountability/responsibility for the actions of persons especially, those who operate a motor vehicle. This incident is unacceptable and I feel for the family and especially the childen here. Until we start holding these drivers accountable, there will never be any change. You cannot bring back the life of this man. There are too many at risk driving behaviors out there an it is getting worse.

You seem to know so much about our SMALL TOWN MENTALITY,from here at one time?
I know no one looks at anything happening in your big metropolitan town of HH, because people in big towns are jerks that don't care what happens to their fellow human beings! they are too busy being selfish jerks.
Get your facts straight, if he was being nosey he would have SEEN the cars and people, as the story said, the cars were parked very very near the on ramp and if you know anything about the south bound 14 you would know that pearblossom hwy on ramp to the 14 is a semi circle before it hits the lanes of the freeway. so chances are HE did not see them until it was too late...also the story said NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS WERE TO BLAME. I feel sorry for all involved, mostly for the kids that had to witness that. I feel sorry for your Ignorance too.
my sympathy to all the families.

So then there you go. The driver made an error in judgment looking over his shoulder too long to merge on the freeway do to lack of driving experience. Smashes into an unexpectedly precariously parked vehicle while looking back but there's no crime because he doesn't have alcohol n his blood.
So it's ok to kill people with bad driving judgment and driving errors/inexperience except if you've been drinking alcohol. Then you have to go to jail for a million years. If not then they dust you off and put you back in your monster truck for some more fun filled demo derby action the next day.

Thanks for the support. The man (David McWright) was my uncle. He was very loved and a good man. How dare you put down that very nice parent about her prayers...

Dude, did I say it was alright? READ YOU FOOLS! where does it say he was doing anything other then going onto the on ramp? THEY might not have left enough room between them and the on ramp, you people assume to much and put words and actions into a story that has no such thing written in it...the police did not charge the man, because it was a ACCIDENT! bad driving judgment and driving errors/inexperience uhhh where was that written in this story? were you there? seem you judge and add things that just don't exist to talk sh*t about people.
