Hopefully congress will re-open them this week, Obama does not have that power, Congress does.
If you think Obama's numbers are down, take a look at the GOP numbers.
I suggest next time if they want to be taken seriously as terrorists they should threaten to fly a plane load of Tea Baggers into the ground if they donít defund Obamacare....( chuckle )
The Democrats in Congress are willing to hold this country hostage and risk default rather than give up their Obamacare subsidy. Don't think that's not part of what this is about. Members of Congress and Senate want 75% of their Obamacare expenses paid for, and they are willing to hold the country hostage and shut down the government and risk the credit rating and all that garbage for their own personal gain.

You are getting closer, they are willing to let this country go into default, ruin us financially, and credibility around the world if they donít get their political whim. Hundreds of billions of dollars lost over default as our credit rating would tumble.

Not that I think that will actually happen, it will be put to a vote in the last minute, it will pass, and everyone will be watching who votes how. And everyone that does not vote to re-open the government and raise the debt ceiling will have " I voted to ruin the country by letting it default" on every campaign they ever try to run.

I have not been very pleased with Obama for some time now, but it is nothing to get upset about. Certainly better than the previous president.
I suspect our next president will have a tad more backbone
:)
That's good, thought you were upset, my bad. It's just that you had a little hissy fit there when describing your version of the republicans. Carry on.

It was always my dream to be a U.S.G.S. geologist ever since I read John Wesley Powell's biography when I was very young. I promised myself I would pursue that dream if I got out of Vietnam alive. I succeeded. When I finished my MS, I had four good job offers. I chose the USGS.

Sorry you chose to smoke pot and flip burgers while I was earning degrees. You had the G.I. Bill. But you got stoned and you missed it.
So now you pick up cans along the highway and post dopey stuff. While I enjoy my comfortable retirement and ridicule it.

Ah good times!
