We don't know if homosexual marriage is a good thing or not.

Homosexual marriage is newer than a cellphone and dirtier than Lilith's diaper.

That's why you lost at the Supreme Court, dummy.

We can't see the future.

Abusive, on what grounds? Because they didn't agree with their daughter going out in short skirts and hooker boots spreading it for every swinging willy that passed her way! Because they wanted better for you. Everyone has their own method of parenting, even non religous parents are strict, and aren't afraid to slap their kid on the ass if their getting out of line. Mine were, and they aren't religous. They believe in God but they didn't raise me by his teachings, I found that path on my own!

How does it not? Because of religion? Laws are not based on religion.

Just another grab at freedom? What is wrong with that? The fears center around things like HIPAA regulations, end of life decisions, inheritance, and over 1000 other little tidbits that a stroke of a pen would give to homosexual couples. Face it, some families aren't accepting of their children's orientation and take it out on their mates when the child is dead or getting there.
A will supersedes marriage; don't rewrite marriage laws because your partner doesn't want to include you in his will. If he didn't write you to make medical decisions in a living will, maybe he doesn't trust your judgement.

Marriage would resort in more challenged wills and disputed living wills; that's how same sex marriage harms gays.

Not back then, it was the gay disease.
You're it.
smile.
Prior to it being a "gay disease", it was a disease of colonies in African nations. Scientists have found evidence that HIV/AIDS might have been running rampant as far back as the 1930s. Since so many people were butchering meat from apes, it is believed to have leapt from them to man. And since so many people died in those remote areas of "unknown origin", nobody really took notice. However, a blood sample was preserved from 1939. HIV was found in it. The disease then likely went to Haiti (HIV was found in blood samples collected in 1966) before it first arrived in 1968 in America. It wasn't until 12 years later that "patient zero" was identified in the U.S.

It cannot be known how many people actually died of the disease prior to it being fully studied in the U.S. in the 1980s. But I'm guessing that from 1939 to 1980 there were many.

Sometimes it helps to do a little research before making erroneous and misleading comments.

The city of Glendora, California is less than 7% away from the tipping point, when ever a city lays out 60% of it's budget for police protection, it's two shakes of lambs tail from BANKRUPTCY.

So before you let the so called wise men an woman in City Hall and the City Council take the residents over the edge of NO RETURN, demand they get the house in order or NEW elections will take place.

1) Yes, you get so insulted at anything.
2) We would remind them about how the right to own and bear arms is CLEARLY spelt out, in the 2nd Amendment, which states, very clearly: " ...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."...Unlike the claim of the SSM'ers, as per their imagined "right" to marry.
3) Frustrated and angry, like petulant children? No, you would be guessing wrong.
4) Christ is irrelevant here, as many of your call God "sky fairy". "WWJD" has no bearing here.
5) Interpretation of the Constitution has little to do with "love your neighbor as you love yourself".
1.) Yes, I do get insulted when people refer to people like me in a derogatory manner. And since I get to be the judge of what insults ME, then reserve the right to say something about it.

2.) The Constitution clearly says that the right to keep and bear arms is for the purposes of maintaining a well regulated militia. Back in those days, the militia would have been armed with single-shot arms--not high magazine, semi-automatic weapons.
Do you think the founding fathers could have imagined the types of arms being gathered today? Did they mean that citizens should be able to fight battles using the same types of weapons that the government possesses? Do you think they would agree that citizens should be allowed to possess F-16s, surface to air missiles, and nuclear devices?
Some of you argue that the Constitution is not a living document--to be interpreted by Justices. You claim that the founding fathers would never have intended for same-gender couples to be married.
But you have no problem accepting that the Constitution has been expanded greatly with regards to the second amendment.

3.) I beg to differ... I have seen the articles about ammunition shortages of late. I have seen gun show after gun show in my city, where people pay top dollar for the most vicious weapons they can find. And I see my state trying to pass a nullification bill that will invalidate ANY attempt by the federal government to put limits on gun ownership. And I've seen screaming, red-faced gun-nut after gun-nut on the various news channels claim that the government is going to take their precious guns.

4.) I have been a Christian my entire life. I find it relevant. And "Country Girl" has often referred to God and His intentions with regards to man and woman. She brought up the issue first, so I continued the argument using parameters that she has identified.

5.) If you want to take religion out of the argument, that's fine with me. I will only point out that the Supreme Court has claimed 14 times since 1888 that marriage is a fundamental right of citizens. Same gender couples will build on those findings in order to argue for marriage equality.

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE SEX!!!!!!!!!!
It's about the rights and benefits that we are denied when we are in the same type of relationship as straight married couples. Medical benefits and rights of spouses, tax benefits, inheritance etc. 1,138 rights and benefits we are denied.
And:
Actually it is about the sex Jaredb8, and I say that because it is the principle difference between what is traditional and non-traditional. Humanity has not advanced through the centuries because of procreative abilities of the gay man or the lesbian women. It is unlikely that anyone could distinguish our sexual proclivities if we were standing next to one another, unless of course you are a flamer and its obvious. It is your sexual desires you act out on that makes us different, and your behavior contrary to what nature or God intended. I throw nature in there because God is nothing to most of you, as you have decide you are God.
OMG, I love this guy. In a manly way, of course...
And skrew the "natural order" too.

I've gotten propositioned many times, as well, it is what I meant when I told VV that if he thought I'd heard very little from gays, he was mistaken. Also, politely (most of the time) declined. And, not uncomfortable to do, although he acted like saying "no" to an interested woman was the most traumatic thing he'd ever gone through, but, then again, I have discovered that he is a drama queen. A gushing cornucopia of raw emotion and easily-bruised ego.
You know... I think I've decided that you're not worth my time.

Based on some of the things you have written, I thought you were open to discussion of this issue as an adult.

I'll take my bruised ego and enter therapy. I hope I can get over the enormous pain you have inflicted.

Oh... Wait a minute. My bad... That wasn't emotional pain caused by your comments here.

That bit of discomfort was gas from the 3 slices of mushroom and olive pizza I had for dinner.

And it just floated right out the window; roaring through the dark Tennessee night like a moose on a Honda.
