Maybe if she would have spent a little more time properly raising her child, he wouldn't have been out drinking underage, with all his friends and he would of called for a ride home. I guess he was too cool for that. She's nothing but a money grub, trying to get money for something that is truely her fault in the first place.

i totaly agree with good parenting. No one made him go drinking. No one made him get in that car. Lets stop blaming everyone else. Put the blame where it lies with the kid that chose to do what he did. why do people always choose to put the blame on someone else all the time.

I am sorry in the death of this young adult but his mother is Just another case of a loser trying to get money on a dead loved one so the Piece of S**t doesnt have to work. I think you forgot to sue the seat belt company that failed in the death of your child you piece of S**t. Are you going to sue the Judge that decided against you, or how about the car company because it wasn't a 5 star car that you had. You worthless F**k

No one knows the unbearable pain this woman must be feeling, unless you yourself have lost a child. Did you ever think that these lawsuits have nothing to do with the money?? There are lawyers that are preying on your grief in a time like this. This (having something to focus on) may be the only way she is able to get out of bed in the morning. Do people get carried away sometimes with law suits? YES. Is it always out of greed, NO. This is not like the lady who spilled hot coffee on her leg and sued McDonalds for a bundle. Sadly when all the dust settles, she will be left only with the grief of losing her child. Hopefully she has a strong support system to help try to put back the pieces of her shattered life.

Agreed. I hope no one ever has to endure this sort of pain. We all make wrong decisions in life. Her son made that wrong decision, and now his family is left behind to somehow try to live a normal life. Let's not be so quick to place blame on anyone. From what I hear money has never been an issue with this family.

You obviously do not know anything about this family, so crawl back into the hole you crawled out of.

They are good parents, their son made the wrong decision. So, before you start flapping your jaws get your information straight.

because the child made a bad choice, the parent has no right to expect damages from the other child.

I am not a big fan of all the worthless lawsuits out there, BUT I think she should have been able to sue.
We hear time and again of parents providing alcohol to teens so that they can party. That adult SHOULD be held liable! Those who stated that the deceased boy should not have gotten into the car have a valid point... but what about the drunk kid who got into the car to drive? Yeah, he will spend 16 yrs of his life in prison.. He is being punished, but I again make reference to the :neighbor" that provided the alcohol.. she should be sitting in jail also. If you buy a gun for somebody else (Straw Purchase) and then that person kills somebody, the law says you are just as guilty. Lets break it down..

You buy "Gun" for another person..
That person kills somebody...
You are as liable as the killer..

-Now lets change ONE word..

You buy "alcohol" for another person..
That person kills somebody...
You are as liable as the killer..

Makes sense to me.

Probably were good parents, but counseled to go after a law suit makes them look sleezy.

I don't know this family and I was raised that good people don't sue its about 'showing pride' and stuff like that. Until I was a victim, I didn't want money I just didn't want this Dr to ever harm someone with his negligence EVER again.

Everyone was like sue, sue! Your so angry and mentally drained then to find out this is ONLY way to hit someone where it hurts. Really I'd rather watch him die a slow tragic death. But since that not legal sueing was the means to get this negligent POS!
I've stopped the lawsuit proceeds when I found out he was let go by St Lukes and even though he still operates in Florida. He can't hurt anyone around here anymore.

I felt I didn't get the best of him but he sure the hell ain't gettin gthe best of me!

Sometimes sueing someone is the only LEGAL thing you can do to hurt the person that hurt. But I'm sure this mother would rather have have her son then money. I'm sure she'd rather choke the life out of the irresponsible people involved and maybe she'd wants to ask Michael WHY WHY didn't you call but she can't so if this is her way.

Who the Heck do you people think you are to JUDGE this woman???

Lastly, let he who lives without sin be the first to cast a stone!

I'm sure this woman has gone thought the "what-if's" of how she could have raised her child differently, and wouldn't have been drinking. She is clearly in anguish.
I agree that the lawsuits do make them look like they are money grubbing, even though I'm sure they are a nice family.

This woman is sueing everyone. Did someone put a gun to her sons head and make him drink? I feel for her loss but come on.

I agree with you 100%! I dont ever want to feel that pain-EVER ! However, what is suing everyone going to do? Alot of people should be taking a piece of the responsibility for that night. His mother is no exception.

My sentiments exactly. Although my heart aches for this woman. I cannot possibly fathom losing my child--suing everyone only makes her look driven by greed.
Better yet, why doesnt she go out to high schools and tell her sons story to other teens. SAVE SOMEONE ELSE ! Save another Mother from ever feeling the pain she has felt. What is suing people going to do ? I think she is bitter and resentful and wants people to pay. I can almost guarantee....no amount of money will ever bring her peace.

Your story seems different. This kid is serving his time. He WILL pay for what he has done.
In your case, it seems like this doctor was not held accountable for the pain and suffering he caused you and possibly countless others.
This "kid" will serve 16 years and be a VERY different person when he comes out of jail. Which one of us is not different as adults then we were at 16, 17, 18?

She already collected over $100,000, now this low life bottom feeding scumbag wants more, if she isn't a leach, I wouldn't who would be one, except her pond scum lawyer. It has nothing to do with pain and suffering, it has to do with her wanting to sit back on her lazy b utt and not have to work
