Its coming for sure, but it will be by the casino. It's 99.9% done and ready to be announced, but apparently there is one issue with Rendell holding up the state money to make it a 100% done deal. Everything is give and take with Fast Eddie, so once he gets what he wants, they'll announce it is going in by the casino.

Would seem like an ideal area to build a hockey arena for the AHL's Phantoms to move to the Lehigh Valley. The new owners want an an arena here, and building it right off of 33 make sense so that you can draw fans from the Lehigh Velley and the Poconos for hockey and any other event scheduled in te arena.

That deal ended a while ago. Callihan himself has even stated the proposal for an arena in Bethlehem is dead.

It is going in at the Allentown Waterfront. PennDot is on board with the bridge and everything.

Part of the problem is that the governments cut tax breaks for new building in industrial parks (that are mostly warehouses that employ few people) and no real incentive to move into an existing building in an existing ind pk. In many cases, businesses close up or move out and the benefits of the tax breaks (# of employees) doesn't materialize & the tax breaks aren't repaid.

I think an new interchange is a good thing.
Why don't we address the real problem. The real problem is the truck traffic which is being driven by the 1+ million sq ft distribution warehouses springing up everywhere.
They bring tax dollars for communities but they also bring ridiculous levels of truck traffic, pollution, neighborhood tension and stress and very little jobs. I don't live next to the one that they were or are building in lower nazareth but boardingering Palmer but I still attended the meetings because increased traffic in general but I would argue that increased Truck traffic more so is ruining the area.

Since this township is doing everything it can to disenfranchise it's residents to benefit Chrin, I suggest all residents move out, and let Chrin be the only source of tax revenue for the township to play with.

I do not live in this area and I do not understand all of the issues and arguments, pro or con. However, is it a stretch for me to wonder why this Chrin name seems to command above average bully pulpit leverage among the resident masses in this area? I also note the community building is named Chrin. Influence peddling by the dollar?

How about some objective details and nix the emotional and off topic fluff? This Chrin name is starting to vibrate my bullschitte indicators about as much as the Atiyeh and the Karoly names do...

I'm thinking a big stick, in the spirit of Teddy Roosevelt, for Chrin... Seems like a two bit hacked version of J.P. Morgan.

I am all for supporting progress but what people have to remember is that Mr. Chrin promises a lot of things and never fully finishes the projects. Look at the Community Center in Palmer for one. When the proposal for the center came out, neighbors were concerned about increased lighting, traffic, noise, etc. We were assured that there would be a tree lined "landscape screen" put in on the side of Green Pond Road to help eliminate any of that for the residents. They even showed all of us the "plans" that had this drawn out. And yet, years later, there has been no such berm or landscape screen put into place along Green Pond Road. The residents are the ones who continue to suffer while Mr. Chrin sits back and does whatever he wants because his money talks.

If he is allowed to go through with his plan, that is fine, but he should be required to follow through with all aspects of the plan - and should be held accountable for the things he promises but does not follow through on.

Tatamy is a nice small community, Main St has issues handling all the traffic now. I hate the trucks all day long going 45- 50 mph down the road, the dirt on the houses is gross!! It will only get worse. The only way I support this in any way is to make Main St a NON Truck route. Otherwise I will help the fight "tooth and nail". I bought my house here years ago and it was quite and peacefull. Now to cross the street you have to run and hope a truck is not going 50 mph down the road. Plus the sinkholes, they won't rebuild the other bridge in Tatamy because of the sinkholes but willing to build a new one very close to the other? Does that make sense??
Are you seriously a Tatamy resident?!? I am calling bull$h!t on this post. Hello, NO ONE goes 50mph up Main St. because everyone knows that your town is the biggest speed trap in Eastern Pennsylvania. Your (only) cop sits there at the gas station literally his entire shift, writing tickets. I know, I see him every day.

And guys, believe me, if there was a way to avoid your Main St and your speed trap town we'd do it every time.

Furthermore, these posts are indicitive of the problems with the entire valley. They want more and better paying jobs, but they refuse to let anything change in any tangible way in order to achieve these goals. Then you wonder why other states are growing and prospering while PA staggers to keep what they have.

The first part of your post is so true. I wonder why a community would pay not one, not two but three part time cops to sit in that gas station, one usually smoking his cigar outside the vehicle.
The second part is also true but what Chrin has done or plans to do may bring a few more jobs but not better paying jobs. And the trade off between what he plans to do and the increase in truck traffic is not worth considering.

Well I guess you don't have your pictures rattling at 1 am or trying to scrub off the soot off your porch. As for the speed trap, which is not at the light as you may think, we actually have multiple officers in the community and who do patrol also so I know the speed trap is not manned everyday. If people learned how to use a flashing red light and actually stop, there would be less tickets but of course that won't happen. I guess if Chrin gets what he wants as he always does, there will actually be a normal stop light there so the idiots who do the "rolling" stops will actually have to stop. I think this ramp is a terrible idea!! If Chrin wants to put one on his land why not put it further down at Hollow Rd and VanBuren. That makes more sense to me!!

I'm not going to dispute that Chrin might not have the best use for the land. That remains to be seen.

Also you need to take into account that the (finally) opened prologis parkway makes it easier to access the Palmer industrial park. Trucks no longer have to backtrack from Stockertown and head down Main St. Therefore you should already have seen less truck traffic than before.
