University of Tampa student murdered

For those who knew 19-year-old Samantha MacQuilliam, the grief is unbearable. Her roommates gathered along with neighbors to console one another Friday morning.

With every update we are reading, it is more and more devistating. You never think it is going to happen to you until it does, or at least to your best friend's daughter. Our hearts are with you, and with each passing moment we hope they fine the person who is responsible and justice be served.

I live Wendover Terrace not far from where Samantha lived. Our entire neighborhood is devasted andin shock. Such a waste of a young life taken so tragically. She will be remembered by all the neighbors on our street. Our hearts and prayers go out to her parents, entire family, friends & co-workers.

The person who murdered Samantha should have stayed in jail. He has a history with the court system and he is a known abuser and stalker. I know this first hand because I saw how he did this to his ex girlfriend. She was terrified of him. She brought him to my home and even in the year 2001,he acted like a psyco path. I lived a couple of houses from his family and he seemed to always have issues.
I won't type his name because that gives him too much glory.
My prayers are with Samantha's family. She attended high school with my daughter and she was a great person.

I feel for Chris,Chris,Sue and Kyle but nothing will get done for Sam by just sitting here. I have found that the Congress and the Senate have two bill H.R.1592 and S.1105 sitting in committee. Both of the Bills would classify Domestic Violence as a Hate Crime and allow the Fed's to step in if the local or State Government won't or can't. You can find info on these bills and find out who is your Senator and Congressmen at http://www.usa.gov if you want to do something for "Samy" then be a pain in your representatives butt and get these bills into Law.

Sam was my step dads niece. When we heard the news we cried for days and days. Thank you for all of your support. Please keep remembering that this can happen to anyone, and ladies please stay safe!

I worked with Samantha at the Varsity Club and I really wish some justice would be served ASAP.She was so sweet and so beautiful and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about it.I have a daughter her age who also works at the Varsity Club and it all hits so close to home. We remember you Samantha and I hope the family has found some peace.We loved her.
