Whatever happened to news reporting that was not convoluted? 11% of accidents involved alcohol. Maybe 1% were actually caused by alcohol abuse. Some deaths may have been prevented by wearing seat belts. My daughter was burned up in a car because she could not release the seat belt after an accident. Many laws start out with really good intentions, but are soon altered and abused to mold public opinion and eventually cause more harm than good. An example might be the reduced speed limits on the interstate highway system. We all know that ended badly. Our newest example is the 'tax collecting', harmful (misuse) of the newly installed traffic cameras. If used correctly these cameras could actually identify drivers with dangerous driving habits. Instead, they are set to 'catch' good drivers and actually produce more accidents. Historical data, safety reports, and common sense support this position. The DOT accepted the use of these devices after they received misleading information from local authorities. Please make a better effort to report news without political propaganda.
