For the money, you couldn't ask for a better meal. Now I said..FOR THE MONEY.
The Deerfield location was very clean, and the Coral Springs location seemed to do good business. I used to go to the one up in Kissimee on the way into Disney on 192..always busy.
Sounds like there may have been other issues.

Used to call the Lauderdale outfit Roadkill Grill. Nice place on the intercoastal. Do away with firefighter pensions....always wasting taxpayer dollars at publix

Bush's Iraq blunder has sent this country into the worst depression since 1929. Many more companies will be going out of business.

People can't afford to eat out as much in this crummy Bush economy.

No, Bush's is the worst since Dimmy Carter's malaise. Daryl wrote: Bush's Iraq blunder has sent this country into the worst depression since 1929. Many more companies will be going out of business.

It's time had come...the food and service just didn't keep up to expectations...they lost the competitive edge to other restaurants...pure and simple.

Hard to figure. We spent many an evening at a RHG. Loved the one on the water in Fort Lauderdale. Food was good, service OK, and lots and lots of fun. Everyone from the little grandkids to all of the adults miss the RHG. RIP.

It was a nice chain. Are there any low cost, but good food places left? Bonanza and Ponderosa just don't cut it. Ruth's Chris is just too expensive.

If you want to see how the economy is effecting the resturaunt business for the past few years, take a drive ride University Drive in Coral Springs. There are several of the 75 plus restaraunts along that road that have closed down over the past couple of years including Roadhouse and there is no longer huge lines to get into most of them anymore. People are more concerned now with household food bills and fuel for the cars.
Thanx George Bush.

Holy moley... there are more crazies than normal on the Topix forums today...
I used to love to take my boys (then 7 and 4, now 12 and 9) to Roadhouse. It was the one place where they could make a mess and make noise and nobody would really notice...:-)
They loved to throw the peanut shells on the floor (which they stopped after a while in Springs, fire hazard, y'know), and have a hamburger with their Old Man.
What was that line in the Desiderada? "Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth... "
I'll miss Roadhouse nonetheless. Fun place.

Y'know, it just occured to me, that in these times of trouble, with gas and food prices spiraling out of control, and with a horrible psycho in the White House who has made real the legend of the tar baby baby and gotten us into a quagmire comparable to Vietnam...
...just take a step back, take a breath, and realize that everything is cyclical. Our great nation has survived two world wars and a depression--far worse than the "mess" we find ourselves in today. We're Americans; we're fleet of foot and strong of spirit, and we'll get through this like we've gotten through so many other bad scrapes before. Just remember... as we were mired in the Vietnam quagmire, American ingenuety united the Earth in a way never before seen: we have Apollo 8 and Apollo 11... brave, American men and women who sent our finest people into the universe and showed us, from a great distance, a glimmer of ourselves and what we could be when we were _all_ but one people...
...And maybe, in these times of strife, and despair, it is wise for us to remember the wise words of the Desiderada. Google it. And take comfort in those beautiful words.

The DESIDERADA
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; They too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; It is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; Many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the council of the years, Gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a healthy discipline, Be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here, and whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God, Whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

These words ring just as true today as when they were first written, many, many years ago.
