Pythons are an invasive, non-native species. Any that can be captured and eliminated should be. Individuals who own them, should be required to get rid of them. These are NOT pets!!!

Last time the idiot from Florida spoke about it there were MILLIONS- and they got 37...hmmm. In the two years before (when he started out saying ten thousand) they got 15. See anything wrong with that? It's all a lie. There are some pythons out there. Professional snake hunters, who abound in Florida, would be coming up with dozens a day if their numbers were that great. Especially since so many of them are morphs- axanthics and albinos with no protective coloration so you can see them 200 feet a way. It's a load.

SAY WHAT?? Anacoluthons?? That's an abrupt grammatical change within a sentence.

No, I meant anacoluthons. I was trying to impress Opis with my knowledge of pythons and other connochaetes; plus, it was an attempt at a little humor. Evidently, it didn't go over too well.

So tell me, when was the last time you used anacoluthon in a sentence?

Well, difference between someone out looking for snakes and an expert- A Florida State Wildlife Official said it had been years since he had found a wild Florida kingsnake. I went out with four expert snake hunters and we tagged 130 of them walking around between 8:30 a.m. and noon near Okeechobee. Similarly they said there were thousands of monocled cobras around a snake park there that got damaged by a hurricane. We found none, and no traces. No one ever has, amazingly enough. Officials are funny- "They're nearly extinct!" and you can find 'em everywhere; "There's millions of them!" and people find 37.

My point being that it doesn't take a lot of skill to be "expert".

I've seen some snakes down here on the golf courses. They try to move the ball when no one is looking. They likely number in the thousands in the winter time, then the snow birds go home.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Virgo

If the past few days have been a blur of cooking, washing up and wrapping paper, take a break today and catch up with loved ones. Have a long talk with one of them so you can find out what they've been doing lately, or discuss a topic that concerns both of you. Right now, you're blessed with plenty of diplomacy so the conversation should go well.
