Trash collection creating Maggots and Unhealthy Conditions

With trash collection being reduced to once per week in Palm Bay, many of us are finding flies and maggots in our trash cans. While this wasn't the situation in the cooler months we found starting the end of June this was the case. We find it to be an unacceptable situation that has to be remedied. Trash Collection needs to be twice a week during the summer months.

It's amazing how low standards can sink. Maggots? Overwhelming amounts of flies? I pay for garbage service and I pay my taxes. I don't believe that requesting garbage pick up often enough to prevent a disgusting situation is too much to ask. I expect a certain quality of life and that does not include maggots!
Your answer is a lid? We all have the same garbage cans and they all have lids but yours must be of a superior quality since yours keeps out all flies and maggots. Your reply was just condescending.

The regulation for placing garbage in SEALED plastic bags hasn't changed with the new contract between the City of PB and Waste Management.

Ive lived in places where I had to take my trash to the dump myself because it was a very rual area.Often I could only go every two weeks.I kept my trash is sealed trash bags in cans with sealed lids and never had a issue.
