My mother and I went to action gun outfitters to get a birthday gift for my father, he wanted a handgun a PX4 Storm to be exact and action gun outfitters was the only place in town that had it.

We arrived and one of the staff members was very helpful and polite he showed us the Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm we were looking for. He Showed us how to use it and told us about all the features it had etc. He told us the gun was brand new from the factory. We were naive expecting this gun shop to be an honest place.

We Gave the gun to my father for his birthday, he went to fill out the warranty card and it had someone else's name in it. My mother contacted action gun outfitters and they said the gun was in like new condition so it was sold as new. We went to Berettas website and the gun was missing some of its back straps. This gun wasn't new or like new. It was clearly used. My father wanted to try out the gun and visit a range not knowing at the time that there was any other ranges in the area so we went to action gun outfitters range. I took along my Hi-Point .45, that my Father bought for me at another gun store called On Target in Satellite Beach. On Target is an excellent gun shop its a shame they didn't have the PX4 Storm. We did some shooting at action gun outfitters no problems with the PX4. However my Hi-Point was shooting a bit off and I wanted to adjust the sight. I went out and asked a staff member if I could borrow a screwdriver to adjust the sight on my gun. He said no problem and went into the range area with me looked at my gun and scolded me "Hi-Point thats a piece of junk why would you buy something like that, I know we didn't sell you that, you can't adjust the sights on those anyways" and he left the range. I can't believe how rude I was treated. I was not experienced with handguns at the time so my father bought something cheap for me to learn on. However lying to a person *the sights cant be adjusted* insulting me and my father on a firearm that we bought is rude and just poor salesmanship.

Hi-Point opened my eyes to the sport of shooting and I loved it.

Since that time I sold my Hi-Point to a friend, and I moved onto better things. I added several more firearms into my collection $7000 dollars worth to be exact. If I would have been treated civil by action gun outfitters that would have been $7000 dollars in sales for them plus all the ammo I buy however they missed out.

Thanks for the heads-up! I will be picking up my new Glock, in a day or two and will be sure to ask for evidence that it is a factory fresh one! If there's one thing I don't tolerate, it's being cheated. New and like-new are certainly not the same!

I bought a Springfield XD40, it was my first gun. It was suspicious to me the guy told me they will service the gun at the shop. After reading the comment it turn to be that the gun was also used. I have bought more guns there but I make sure that is a manufacturer new gun. Since then the staff has changed and I have a complete trust on the store.

I don't know what going onb with that store but they seem to be falling apart. I've been going there for several years and can't believe how much there attitude has changed. don't really like going there anymore. what a shame but until they change there way of doing business I'll be going to Indian River Sportman, On Target or what i think is one of the best shops in east central florida, Florida Gun Exchange in Port Orange. I bought several guns from them and never a problem also friendly and very very helpful.

I use to buy from Action gun outfitters when they first opened up back in the early 80's down in the corner unit at the WinnDixie plaza @ 192 and Whickham. I bought several bows and a depot of arrows and ammo, even back then they were kinda self asorbed. I shot once or twice at the Aroura Rd location but yea if you are not carrying $800+ pistol around with ya they will treat ya as money is worthless.

I don't know who owns Action now but I used to shoot there regular, tolerating their arrogant attitudes. I to started with a very inexpensive handgun and as time went bye I also invested a great deal of $$ into my collection of handguns and long guns. I would never give those guys one more dollar for anything in their store. As for locals that are educated and professional Shoot Straight and On Target are my choices

Who runs Action now? Is invisible Freddie no longer the owner? The place still sux, probably shouldn't be licensed as a range. It's just plain brutal to shoot there. Staff "ha" mcD's does better at Customer Service and respect, and most of them are kids.

Kilbasa, This thread you are reading is little biased, but on the other hand, I will admit we have made our share of mistakes however we are always trying to improve. Before you state you will never visit, come in and form your own opinion. rmad10, Action Gun is still owned by the same individual, Herb Stratton. If you have a problem with the store, contact him or you can contact me with any problem you may encounter. Once again, we always welcome constructive criticism.

Five years ago, I purchased a S&W from Action Gun Outfitters in Melbourne. Since then, I bought a Glock and two other handguns. I have never had a problem with them and found their selection of new and used handguns large and their prices competitive. They also do special orders. Their 8 lane indoor pistol range is convenient and inexpensive and they rent almost any model Glock and some other handguns for ten dollars. On Saturday, right now, ladies shoot for free. They give free instructions and a CCW course at a nominal price.

Well I just recently moved to the area and stopped in to see how this store compared to the places I went to back up in Ohio. While the store was smaller than I am use to I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I have been having a little problem with my 1911 and asked the gun smith about it while I was there. I was expecting to be told to bring it in and it would be expensive to repair. Instead I was told what he thought the problem might be (he was going by my description as I did not have the 1911 with me) and told me what I could do to try and fix it. He even showed me with one of the 1911s in the case. I went home tried it and it worked. The cost was nothing to me but a little time. I plan on making a new purchase soon and this store is already at the top of my list as to where to go.
