Nope... I am a hard-working, middle-income, tax-paying, highly educated citizen who believes in equality and equal access to benefits. What I want to stress is access to health care for every human being. Shouldn't that be the most important thing? It's what Jesus would have done.
If you are fooled into thinking we need to overspend on security, I feel badly for your ignorance and misinformation. We have plenty of money to make it happen, it's just being misallocated, and to argue about immigrants is a waste of time and is racist scapegoating.

So we should just eliminate all borders, let whoever wants to come here and then pay for their health and welfare???
Then and only then can we all just join hands and sing "kumbaya" are you actually that naive??? Oh and under your master plan we should also basically gut the military since under your new world order everyone will automatically love and respect everyone else. What freaking kind of fairytale land do you live in??? Finally why am I a racist because I want our laws enforced and want American citizens to come first when it comes to doling out any potential benefits??? This has NOTHING to do with race. It is a simple case of survival. How is that racist??? I want ALL the races that are here illegally to be deported, brown, black, yellow, white and purple and green if there are any. You are living proof that LIBERALISM IS A SEVERE MENTAL DISORDER.

What's more of a mental disorder is being so extreme. When did I say I was pro-open borders and pro dismantling the military? The problem with conservatism is that it is based on fear. I am thinking with rational logic and intelligence from my experience, plus compassion as a human being.
We spend 15x more money than any other country on defense - I don't think that's necessary. If we cut just a little bit, we would have plenty of money for social programs and we wouldn't have to have these kinds of arguments.
I don't know about you, but I want to live in a country that takes care of its people first - and that includes everyone who is part of the society. I think education and health care are the most important components to a functioning, productive, first world nation. Not security and fear-mongering. If this makes me mental, then I guess I am just whacked-out crazy.

Take care of you and yours...That is all I morally, financially and ethically have to do...

I am tired (as are others) of working hard for years, building a business through actual effort, and then having lazy illegals stick their hand out for a hand out...

If you can;t afford it, too bad...don;t have 5, 10, 12 kids if you can't afford it...It's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY....no one gives us anything when we're born, and we shouldn't EXPECT others to give us something....

You sound like my 11 year old nephew.."gimme, gimme ,gimme I can't do it myself"...

please...

Your comments sound racist and are at least hateful - making assumptions about the character of a very diverse group of individuals that happen to be undocumented. That they are "lazy" - that's just ignorance.
Undocumented people on the whole work much harder than citizens and receive far fewer benefits or compensation for their efforts. They don't expect anything, this is proven by the rights and fair working conditions that they don't get or ask for. You are the lazy one to sit and make such accusations without properly educating yourself.
Please try to put yourself in their shoes for just one minute - imagine being from a country without opportunities, and having to make the choice to leave your home and live as a second-class citizen just so you can hope to make a better life for you and your family. People migrate out of love for their families and necessity - not out of opportunism. They're not so fortunate as you or I to have such a range of choices. Get real.
Since when did Americans become so self-centered? The keys to a successful and peaceful society are mutual cooperation, education, and progress, not fear and finger-pointing.
Shame on you for blaming a powerless group of people who are exploited every day in our country - that's what's truly pathetic.

You're right. The only sure things in life are death and taxes. And if the liberals have their way, more of the latter

"Put myself in their shoes"? I would have tried being here LEGALLY. If they came here LEGALLY, they would not be facing most of those hardships. "When did Americans become so self-centered"? When they got tired of being played as patsies for every sob story the rest of world feeds us. When our problems are ignored because we are too busy tending to the problems of others."Undocumented people on the whole work much harder than citizens and receive far fewer benefits or compensation for their efforts. TAKE CARE OF OUR CITIZENS FIRST AND FORMOST. The only reason everyone wants to come here is because of the economic and physical security that is guaranteed by the best military on earth. Weakness breeds enemies who want and will take advantage of the situation. Send the illegal home now!!! I'll volunteer my whole family and myself to work two weeks on the field a year bringing in crops.

You are the self-centered one, not realizing that there are virtually no legal paths to come to the US for people from underprivileged nations. Reason.org has a very helpful chart that shows how limited legal channels are.
Also, even legal immigrants are ineligible for benefits until they have lived here for 5 years.
Interesting how you call thinking globally "Self-Centered"...

Perhaps if we weren't having to deal with soooo many ILLEGALS, things would be different, huh?

Let me guess...you are in a remedial reading comprehension class. Either that or you are a complete moron. The "self centered" was a quote from your post. Try looking the words up in a dictionary or ask a grown up to explain them to you.

I've been a legal resident for 2 yrs and my husband's healthcare covers me. If that didn't then I would expect to pay for services, which anyone should have to if you aren't a citizen. I think of being allowed to stay here a privilege, not a right. On a personal note, it ticks me off that I had go through so much crap to do it the 'right way' to residency, or I would have been deported and some of these freeloaders want amnesty and healthcare! It's a real kick in the guts to me. Talk about double standards. I'm soo sick of it too. Kick them out.
