Just wondering what do you all think about the radio station charging 16.00 to read your loved ones name on the funeral announcements. I think that is so tacky. Money hungry people to my knowledge no other radio station does this. I think that WSIP should be ashamed of their selves.what do you all think?

Most states'radio stations do not read funeral announcments. The mere idea is considered morbid.

I think talk of the town shows just how stupid WSIP can make the public look, no matter what point you have, the smarta'' always sits back and laughs. The talk show is no better than this site.

Sounds like the same bunch that went on another mans property and set up shop without permission. How stupid is that. It's like building a house on peoperty you don't own and waiting for the owner to kick you off his land. According to the paper the owner taking them to court over it.

I am a stay at home mother I dont do anykind of drugs and I dont drink either. I think that the families have alot to deal with all ready in the time of death only to have to cough enough more money that some may not have to pay for a service that should be free. Maybe one day your wife can sell a pill to pay for your sorry ass announcement Ya think.

Most stations don't run obituary announcements, in fact I have only seen this happen in Eastern Ky. I don't recall the lexington stations, the cincinnati stations, or any station that runs obituaries, other than in rural Eastern Ky.

Five minute google search turned up these. Of course, this is information that is not easy to find on the internet for specific places. Most local news programs and nearly all newspapers announce these as well.

I never listen to them, and their bull. If I want country, it's 93.1 WDHR. WSIP has gone down hill in a bad way, the last really good talent they had was Paul Manuel, he was exceptional. He's engineering for WDHR. WSIP is a waste of a good frequency now.

As for charging for the announcements, it's pathetic. Are they that bad off? Cut costs, get rid of some of the rift...that place sucks.

i agree, they don't even cover local news. they said that the main office cut that out. so, if they cut it out then why are all of the same employees there. don't make much since. if you want local news and free obituaries, listen to 94.7 at 11:30 and 4:30. they don't charge and they read everyone's name corrently and not screw up like cj and ron smith.
