You don't think that he has better deputies than ever before? And what did you mean that he doesn't take care of the public's interest as much as his own? Why do you think his wife is a loose cannon? Because she speaks her mind and the truth as she sees it? Still not one convincing remark that makes us feel as though Dwayne is not doing an excellent job.

Our sheriff has not made the citizens of this county feel safe. You cannot get anyone out when you make a call of someone to check on a possible prowler and it takes hours when they do answer the phone. We have gone back to the days when you have to call the KSP in Pikeville for after hours help. Our previous sheriff had deputies out all hours of the night checking churchs and businesses. I knew with one call I would have a deputy to help in short while. NOT NOW

I didn't trust but maybe one of those deputies from the previous sheriff. I'd rather have KSP than to have those bozo's that were deputies in the last department. And I definitely didn't trust or like the last sheriff. I heard too many stories from insiders to trust him. Of course, he was big buddies with our current judge executive and our commonwealth's attorney, so he had about whatever he needed. I've never had anyone to fail answering when I called 911, I don't know who you're calling, but they always answer.

I did not say no one answered 911. I just said no one would come out on a timely manner. My neighbor had breakin and guess who showed up.. Paintsvile Police Dept thats who!!!!!! Yes I liked Mr Witten because he was professional and he tried to run the dept the same way. Did he have to get rid of a few deputies? Yes he did and the same has happened to Sheriff Price. So dont start with that crap. You can hear anything out there and yes I have heard about Sheriff Price womanizing and giving favors too. So as far as that I dont trust him either. But all I care about is the fact that no deputies patroling our homes and businesses at night like Mr Wittens guys did. I felt safer knowing a call would bring a deputy to my door pretty darn quick. Not in Mr Prices office does this happen.

I can't believe this this thread has this many comments and no one has complimented the sheriff on his sense of urgency concerning the investigation the Blanton case. It is relieving to know that we have a sheriff who is willing to reach out to higher authorities for assistance and admit he has exhausted all of his local resources. He has painstakingly devoted all of his time and effort into this case and the search strategies. I think WYMT should do a newscast recognizing our Sheriff and his department for their accomplishments in this case. I know the family members of the missing couple truly appreciate all the efforts contributed by the JCSO in bringing this case to a near close so quickly. It would have been a shame for them to have suffered throughout the holidays with no closure to be seen in the near future. I applaud Sheriff Price. We all should. He sure makes Johnson County a safe and secure place to call home. He is a force to be reckoned with. ~ complete sarcasm

Sheriff Witten had deputies call out that they were at certain places when they were actually in the office. He felt that was good for scanner listeners. I don't know what happens now.

I think when he was told the couple could possibe be in Florida he should have reached outside law enforcements then but he didnt. NOT a good move

I have no clue where you think you know so much but I will tell you that you are wrong. I know for a fact that I seen the deputies out patroling late at night. My Uncles church they checked frequently because one night they saw some boys hanging out in the back and caught two trying to break in. It was about 2am. So tell more lies

Someone got mad at the Mullins and called the sheriffs office and told on them. Whats hard about that? Hell I remember in the 80s Gene Cyrus busted whole fields of the stuff. They will make bail and pay a fine and go back at it.

Well why dont you enlighten us since you know so much. All I can say is that we had a impressive and visible sheriffs dept under Bill Witten and the drugs under Sheriff Price has gone viral because they know he is not around much. They make a round up and no one goes to jail., LOL its all for the publicity. Nancy Price makes sure he gets plenty of that.

There was a list left at the office and the list told where and when you were to call out at being for patrol. I don't know about who is in jail. Unless things are different you can look that up at http://www.bsrdc.com/BigSandy_inmatelist.html

Who are you wanting to know about being in jail.

Mr Supporter knows what he has heard. I worked with the JCSO the whole last year witten was sheriff. I worked nights, and where we said we was at, is exactly where we were. Let's boast more lies and the past sheriff and complain with the new one. It doesn't matter really. Whoever is in the sheriff's seat has the supporters, and the complainers, with the handful of defamers.

Stick your ear to the railroad tracks tonight, and let us know what we have in store for us with the next sheriff. I'm sure others are eager to listen in.

It was also not a good move to have it told on the local news on Friday that searches would be conducted on Monday.(I believe it was Monday). I do know I heard Scott Ratliff telling the news and that was what he said. It doesn't take Einstein to know that should have been kept quiet.
