First this isn't some fly by night, get rich quick scam I've finally been able to put together. What I have isn't much but it's taken me 6 - 7 years to track down as well as learn the basics needed to know. For you, if you elect to follow up on it will take a few months depending on your back ground and want to.

The concept is simple and not a new idea. It's nothing more than being an Ebay seller. You can also do an ecommerce site but it costs a lot more and more education is required.

What you'll need to know as knowledge is how to sell online because it's different than selling in a brick and mortar business. This knowledge includes keywords and how not to oversell so you end up reading like a scammer.

The total cost is around $200 for start up. What you'll need is:

Your tax id which is $25 at the old court house.

An account at www.powersellersunion.net which will cost a one time fee of $65. What it contains is a compilation and link to every single wholesaler/dropshipper located in the U.S. categorized.

There are a few tools out there that will help you evaluate what is selling and isn't on Ebay. I suggest one or the other of www.hammertap.com which is $20 a month w/support or www.hotitemfinder.com . Hot item finder appears to be a scam. It isn't. I have it and researched it pretty well and it does pretty much the same thing as hammer tap.

These same tools can be used for Amazon as well.

That's all you need. You do have to work on all of it or you'll never do anything. It's a minimal investment that has the potential for a good return.

Hope this helps someone out.

Bayte I have been selling on Ebay for years. I make all products that I sell and have a 100% rating. You need to know what you are selling and be able to answer all question from your buyers. I have only had three negative feedbacks in ten plus years.
It is fun and the money is great but you can not sell junk.

I wouldn't be selling junk. It would all be new or refurbished name brand items. Nothing from a garage sale. I've been able to learn about selling online so I agree with you. You have to know your product/s or have the info at your disposal so you can answer questions about it/them and you have to have quality products,,, which aren't easy to find if you don't know where to go. Pick a Kodak camera. The wholesaler tells me everything I need to know about it in order to be able to sell it. The list I talked about above is to wholesalers and drop shippers that carry name brand items like Sony, John Deere, Bose, Broyhill etc and the items are either brand new or refurbished by the manufacturer. At least the ones I'll be dealing with anyway. They aren't like Doba who tries to get you to pay them every month plus buy from them at prices you can beat at walmart.

There are others that are free, offer the same or similar tools but go the extra mile for you. One of them goes as far as listing your items not only in your free webstore but also lists it on Craigslist for you. Another makes sure your items end up in Google shop, Yahoo and Bing as well. For free. They seem to have good traffic and a lot less competition than Ebay and Amazon as well. I'll list them for you when I get on my other pc where I have them book marked. Taking a break at the moment. I'm applying with a few wholesalers.

I thought this thread would attract more attention than it did. Doing more digging showed me Ebay and Amazon don't even need to be entertained. There are several auction sites like etsy that cost nothing to list in and they have decent traffic. Ebay and Amazon both nickel and dime you to death.

What's slowing me down at the moment is the application process for suppliers. I have to apply and wait to see what their prices are, warranties, S&H etc.

Esty is an online auction geared for those who are skilled enough to create their own wares by hand. I pointed it out to Pete because he makes his own items. All I can create with my hands would be a dog house that the city would probably come by and condemn as uninhabitable.
