It has just been leaked through government insiders that due to increased pressure from China the US government will stop issuing SSI checks in April of 2011, that's next year. China holds 800 Billion in US debt and has demanded that our government discontinue SSI payments to slow down the red inc that threatens their investment. Regular Social Security will continue as long as funds are available. China is also demanding the US government look into reducing or eliminating food stamps. They have suggested instead a government work program that would require anyone recieving any kind of government assistance to report to government work centers every day to work on highways, bridges, or what ever type of work may need to be done, like the WPA back in the 1930's. Word is that welfare and medicare are also being looked at. Looks like this may be the end of the free ride for a lot of people. This is not just president Obama's fault the last six presidents we have had have contributed to the debt and putting us in the position where China can demand how we conduct business in this country.

Things might get interesting. If, that happens, the politicans should be prepared to join the unemployment lines. I think we need to vote them out anyway. We need new people in Wasington. Most of the politicans could not earn an honest living anywhere else. It should not be a lifetime job.

goooooooooooood lord, you have top secret security clearance about the Us's finances, and you come on topix to tell it. are you that stupid? SSI is only meant to be temporary but social security is something people have worked for and earned, that can't take it away. they can limit who gets it in the future but can't take what people are getting now. SSI should be phased out and people that get welfare and don't work should be forced to do SOMETHING.

Oh yeah and all those mothers who say their child has ADD or ADHD are going to have to work, I know one woman who has five kids getting SSI and herself so they rake it in.$674.00 each and Medical Cards and food stamps and free cell phones, what more do you need? I hope they do away with SSI for good.

Boy, have I been wrong. Trying to work and make a living. But, I suppose if dummies like me quit, lots would go hungry. Why, didn't someone clue me in to how to do it the easy way. Dumb, Dumb me.
That alone (working and trying make a living) should qualify me for a mental deficiency check. Boy, did I miss the gravy boat.

i don't think thats correct. there is a limit you can draw each month. that would be over 3600 a month. if 1 person gets the full amount the other people only get a portion.

And just were are you getting all these so-called facts?

800 billion is NOT alot of money on a National Level, we just gave the Banking System 840 billion last year. Our goverment is unlike most of you people screaming "Let them all go hungry because they do not have a job."
Our goverment understands there is not enough jobs for everyone who wants one. And they feed over have the world, but people here in the USA I guess would rather feed our countries than feed it's oun people.
What??? You want to see little kids and families homeless and staving right next door to ya? You people are heartless and act like it is all your money and know elses. When the truth is this, if you make under $65.000 a year you are given your Tax money back and get a Refund Check. If your making over $65,000 what is your problem with paying in to insure that the sick, elderly, and needy and disabled are taken care of? After all it could happen to you and your family one day if you lost that job and lost everything or got sick or hurt.
My family and I have no problem with letting a little go to help those in need....we are not greedy and i thank god everyday that i like in a country who helps it's poor....look at other countries who don't..do you really want to see that happen here in the USA?

When that happens, the politicans will find out how many of our great nation will finally get out to vote. Hope its not too late.

I have worked for over 40 years. I started babysitting when I was 12, then worked at an on-the-job trainig program and attended extra classes at the high school and college. I worked my way up to a good paying job at a firm with an excellent reputation. After injuring my back in a car wreck and having more health problems due to a botched surgery I was forced to resign. I didn't realize the drug problem was so bad until this past summer. As I sat in my yard I was amazed at all the stragne cars that went by my house and right bzck out a few minutes later. It got to the point I could tell what time it was by the color and make of the cars going to buy drugs. The sheriff and unite know all about these dealers ad yet nothing has ever been done. Is there one honest person in a position of authority that will do something instead of sticking their hand out and turning their head?

You don't have to be a secret agent to know that congress just raised the debt limit 1.9 trillion dollars to a total of over 14 trillion. Yes my friend we will answer to China or we will go to war with them. If you are currently on public assistance you better learn how to grow a garden because the government checks are going to dry up. Two years from not there will be no debate about it bacause by then it will have already happened. No more debate from me just a heads up to people on the draw.

Everyone who is under 50, who doesn't work and receives a welfare check should be randomly tested for drugs. If they fail the drug test, they should be shipped to a prison in Siberia where they will undergo extreme torture and attitude adjustment training. If they change their attitude and choose to become contributing members of society, we allow them back in the states to work, raise families and pursue happiness as our constitution gives them this right. If their tune doesn't change, they should be left overseas for someone else to worry about.

i think if you are on the draw (welfare) they should be tested for drugs every time they recert and ssi they should look into spading. im not being funny or mean think about it all these people who get ssi on bogus calls would drop it if they thought they could never have kids and 99% of the time mom or dad draws a check there kid or kids will draw a check. some need and will do this cause they need, but some are usin the system id say a little more thought to it but it is a thought

my family is on foodstamps and my husband draws a check each month. I agree with the random drug testing, when you go in to get assistance, they should take you right then to get a drug test and if you fail then they should take everything away from you, including your kids if you have any. I know that not many people would pass the test. everyone looks down on the people who are on foodstamps or draws a check, but you have to remember that some people can't work, and whether you work or not you can still get assistance. The government does need to drug test for checks and assistance, hopefully they will pass a law for it soon. Try not to judge everyone the same way because they need a little extra help. God Bless!
