I saw a cute wall post on FB where an old Indian was commenting on Daylight Savings Time. The old Indian said that only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the end of your blanket and sew it onto the other end and get a longer blanket LOL
...lol,...I hate this time change and I like my blanket to stay in one piece and not be "quilted" by Daylight Savings Time...

I recall they said daylight savings time was supposed to help the farmers. When we worked the farm full time it didn't matter what the clock said. We started work at daylight and stopped at dark.

It seems to me that if it hurts when you bang your head on the wall that it would make more sense to quit banging your head, than it would be to complain about how hard the wall is.

BTW, your complaining also contributes to moving this thread to the top. Thanks, now I don't have to go looking for it.

Many years ago I worked in a steak house and could eat free steak any time I wished, but sometimes I would go down the street and pay for a hot dog. As for me, it is the same with this thread. I would not want it to be another Facebook, or nothing but a troll haven.
I like the nonsense as well as the exchange of ideas. Actually when not here, I sort of miss Sybil and Don't Care (just not too much LOL they at least think they are the hot dogs LOL)
BTW, where is the Specialist? LSD293? Dreas?
Hey wolf, good to see you still on here. Thanks for the oblique compliment though I thought I was at least a little better than Don't Care in terms of what I contributed to the conversation on this thread. I have been spending most of my topix time on the Popular forums page. If you want variety people from all over the country and the world are on those threads. You can probably guess which of the threads I participated in as there doesn't seem to be many from KY on any of those threads.
Anyway, I just dropped in to remind everyone about the Thrive documentary which will begin tomorrow (11/11/11) which I think will talk about a lot of the things we have addressed on this forum and all that is happening throughout the world and hopefully help usher in the dawn of the global consciousness and the spiritual awakening which OJG spoke about in her post from a few days ago. I think it will definitely be worth the $5 to watch it.

October 28, 2011 will be like trying to go through the eye of a needle. Remember the Bible story where Jesus said, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven."? Where this saying comes from is that in ancient cities there were robbers on camel routes. The walls to the cities were high, the doorways narrow. You had to unload your camel to get through the eye of the needle.
And what this means to us is that we must get unloaded from who we thought we were. We are not a machinist, not a computer specialist, etc. We must ask ourselves: "What am I NOT?" I'm not my house, not my car, not my relationships. We are NO THING. Once we realize this, it will be pretty easy to go through the eye of a needle then.
We are raising our vibrations to change our cellular memory. What you pay attention to is what will occur. We will be co-creators of new reality. We will not be disempowered. To the contrary; we will be able to empower ourselves. In this process, remember that Creation is totally on our side. There is more opening to Consciousness in this process than there is difficulty. Remember, there are more days than nights.
There will be dramatic changes to Mother Earth. There will be more drastic weather as TRUTH comes forward. In the application of the Truth, we will feel the effects of the sun, of earthquakes, volcanoes, drought, of these natural changes by degrees, stages. It will take such things as natural disasters to get us to stop fighting and stop fighting quickly. There will be new mountain ranges, new structures. Earth is going to change dramatically. It has done so before, but then it was a slower process.
Remember, the Earth's surface used to be under water. There is evidence of shells in our cliffs. Where Are You Safe? You will be safe if you stay focused on your INTUITION and look to it for guidance. Think of 9/11 and the people who got through this and similar disasters. They got through because they KNEW the right thing to do. And so will you. It might be wise to check out where people like the Hopi are and be where they are. Maybe they know something we don't (laughter). There will be places that are not going to be touched much. Stay away from cities and away from the coasts. Our coastlines will be shrinking due to global warming, the glaciers melting quickly. Water levels will be rising quickly on the coasts. If you have coastal property, SELL!(laughter)
We cannot emphasize too much that it is important to remain detached and to not get caught up in the drama that is unfolding all around you. It is so important to remember especially at times of great dramatic impact that your safety lies within. Your answers lie within. You can access this knowing at any time. It is a feeling that you feel. Something will feel "right" or it will feel "off" or "wrong." Trust your feelings. Don't let anyone talk you out of them.

BUZZ WORDS FOR TODAY

1. Blamestorming: Sitting around in a group, discussing why a deadline was missed or a project failed, and who was responsible.

2. Body Nazis: Hard-core exercise and weight-lifting fanatics who look down on anyone who doesn't work out obsessively.

3. Seagull Manager: A manager who flies in, makes a lot of noise, shits all over everything and then leaves.

4. Chainsaw Consultant: An outside expert brought in to reduce the employee headcount, leaving the top brass with clean hands.

5. Cube Farm: An office filled with cubicles.

6. Idea Hamsters: People who always seem to have their idea generators running.

7. Mouse Potato: The online, wired generation's answer to the couch potato.

8. Prairie Dogging: When someone yells or drops something loudly in a cube farm, and people's heads pop up over the walls to see what's going on.

9. Sitcoms: What yuppies turn into when they have children and one of them stops working to stay home with the kids. Stands for: Single Income, Two Children, Oppressive Mortgage.

10. Squirt the Bird: To transmit a signal to a satellite.

11. Starter Marriage: A short-lived first marriage that ends in divorce with no kids, no property and no regrets.

12. Stress Puppy: A person who seems to thrive on being stressed out and whiny. Like your average Liberal.

13. Swiped Out: An ATM or credit card that has been rendered useless because the magnetic strip is worn away from extensive use.

14. Tourists: People who take training classes just to get a vacation from their jobs. "We had three serious students in the class; the rest were just tourists."

15. Treeware: Hacker slang for documentation or other printed material.

16. Xerox Subsidy: Euphemism for swiping free photocopies from one's workplace.

17. Going Postal: Euphemism for being totally stressed out, for losing it. Makes reference to the unfortunate track record of postal employees who have snapped and gone on shooting rampages.

18. Alpha Geek: The most knowledgeable, technically proficient person in an office or work group. "Ask Larry, he's the alpha geek around here."

19. Assmosis: The process by which some people seem to absorb success and advancement by kissing up to the boss rather than working hard.

20. Chips and Salsa: Chips = hardware, salsa = software. "Well, first we gotta figure out if the problem's in your chips or your salsa."

21. Flight Risk: Used to describe employees who are suspected of
planning to leave a company or department soon.

22. Good Job: A "Get-Out-Of-Debt" job. A well-paying job people take in order to pay off their debts, one that they will quit as soon as they are solvent again.

23. Irritainment: Entertainment and media spectacles that are annoying, but you find yourself unable to stop watching them. The O.J. trials were a prime example.

24. Percussive Maintenance: The fine art of whacking the crap out of an electronic device to get it to work again.

25. Uninstalled: Euphemism for being fired. Heard on the voice mail of a vice president at a downsizing computer firm: "You have reached the number of an uninstalled vice president. Please dial our main number and ask the operator for assistance." See also Decruitment.

26. Vulcan Nerve Pinch: The taxing hand position required to reach all the appropriate keys for certain commands. For instance, the warm re-boot for a Mac II computer involves simultaneously pressing the Control key, the Command key, the Return key and the Power On key.

27. Yuppie Food Stamps: The ubiquitous $20 bills spewed out of ATM’s everywhere. Often used when trying to split the bill after a meal: "We owe $8 each, but all anybody's got is yuppie food stamps."
