"Sharon Pomroy"
What would be the point? Even if by some miracle statehood was abolished and Hawaii was once more independant the new "rulers" would probably sell it all off just like the old rulers did.
Tilting at windmills is fun but does not really accomplish anything.

Sharon,
It's a wonderful dream, but that's all that it is. I support a nation also, but considering how Hawaii became part of the U.S. back in the 1890's, how can any reasonable person think that the United States will just pull out and tell Hawaii it was just a mistake and the they can have nation status again.

I guess you don't remember anything about the military coming in and taking the queen at gunpoint. Try reading up on history occasionally.

The Route "C", "E" and "40" buses are the basically exact same route that is proposed for the 50 Gazillion dollar cho cho train. and it only cost a fraction of a fraction of the amount of the proposed system.
if you are not currently riding the bus. you are NOT going to ride the train.

Before the queen was at gunpoint ALL the land was firmly in the hands of the monarchy not one single dab was held by anyone else. How about YOU try reading up on history.

Just as soon as the superferry is running to Kauai again, you can all load up the car or truck and... for a lot cheeper than flying.... come to Oahu and support the protesters.

Hawaii Nation? Great idea. Let's do it!!! But first, shouldn't we give some thought to where the money is going to come from after the feds cut off all fnding for our new 'nation?' No welfare, no public housing, no food stamps, no Medicare? No trough feeders in Congress? No federal subsidies? No choo-choo train for Mufi?'Oh, my,'as Chicken Little exclaimed,'The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!'

Comment by Dale Hood on 3 day Mail delivery is laughable. USPS is a government entity, plus they need to deliver all our outstanding bills daily.
What I would suggest is once a week pickup on trash. This would encourage people to recycle and think about what they throw away, reducing the amounts in our already growing landfills....

Supporting "the belief in the rights of the nation of Hawaii" is futile make believe. Those "rights" were doomed by whoever selected Liliuokalani and then failed to prepare her for the difficult task of Monarchy. The Monarch has only one job, but it is a doozy: preserve the kingdom. Failing to master the politics of her own court and thus allowing precious time to slip by while the inevitable intrigues (common to every court) were a'building, she found herself in a critical moment boxed in with few options, all of them bad. She let the opportunity to quash intrigue pass her by and the price she and her subjects paid was the loss of kingdom. That kingdom exists now only in the fevered imagination who think they can wish away the incompetence of the last monarch by simply pushing "rewind" on their magic time machine. Ain't gonna happen.
