Thank gawd they're starting to leave! Traffic was getting too busy at the two stop-lights in town and the crowds shopping at WOO-MART was getting dangerous with the 85-year olds armed with shopping carts!

Yeah! Heres to the rather appealing idea that Pahrump may vanish someday!

Pahrump will never vanish they have LEGAL brothels in town so we get an influx of people male and female. As long as there is sex there will be pahrump. Home Depot is building a new place right at this moment to help the single wide owners repair there "homes" and it will also help the illegal immigrant population find employment.

I'm curious which new fast-food joints will end up in front of Home Depot. It might be a Carl's Jr. or an El Polo Loco - YES!!!

At least now I'll hopefully know where to find some day workers that don't reek of alcohol early in the AM.

AND, You don't need a 'green card' to show up ready to work in the morning @ Home Depot!

AND, in regards to brothels, ever notice how much money they contribute to the County every year? They should be taxed the way other businesses are taxed (on a percentage of sales), but that might show the world Nye County condones it? Aren't brothels still legal here in the Land of Nye? That's one way I might help support the County, but the Mrs. won't let me......

I'm tickled I live in Pahrump. Have for near ten years now. When the US economy finally shuts down, food lines everywhere in the US, and uncontrolled crime in the streets, I'll be just fine here with my clean water, my cows, chickens and veggies.

I DO think you'll find though that the population IS and will continue to decrease thru 2009 & 2010.

Pahrump will get a larger population. I am originally from Nevada, and remember when Pahrump was nothing but a couple of cheap motels, two gas stations and a few brothels. If there isn't already, there will soon be an Applebee's and/or an IHOP. It just seems that where there is a Home Depot, there is one of those two places.

Do your homework. Pahrump will not get a Applebee's or any other chain restaurant in the near future.

Pahrump's population will decrease by another 2000-3000 people by July 1. The US economy is in the process of disintegrating and will be noticeable to everyone by late summer.

Can't argue with "One who knows", so tell me, how long will it be before Terribles Town and Lakeside are sold or closed due to the restructuring of Terribles. It can't be long if we loose 3000 more people.

My brother in law visited his step son there a couple of years ago. His step son asked how he liked the mountains there and he said the place looked like one huge gravel pit. Is that why folks are leaving. I can't believe it looks that bad. I've always like Nevada ever since the TV show Bonanza came out.
