It's unfortunate that people do not understand that a lack of growth contributes to more of a burden on the existing homeowners.

And the more you make up BS to push growth, the more fiercely the town will fight it. After 20 years of watching these mall pushing growth mongers come and go, I can tell you that for a fact. Until you resolve the "water crisis" here there WILL BE zero growth.

Who wants a mall? Shopping malls are so 1970.

Water? How much water does Star Nursery and Home Depot use watering all those plants and trees? I'm sure they use more water then any new business would or could.

Well NutJobs, how much water do those 22 soccer fields use to keep that grass green? How about nothing new until this is resolved. I refuse to put up with water police and water rules just because some whiny Californians moved into Pahrump without looking into what Pahrump was, and now they want 100 new restaurants, shoe stores, and dress shops.

You want food? You live in Nevada, go to a casino. Oh don't like the "smoke you have to walk through?" Go back to California.

I have had it with these morons who think Pahrump needs to adapt to them. Not going to happen, not now, not ever.

Ya, they can't manage the money they already take, so they need more. Property values are plummeting, so they need a raise to even keep up with their current financial follies.

The solution is as always, gvt needs to attract business, not impede it, not research it, attract it. Business brings jobs which gives people taxable spending money, and jobs make Pahrump attractive, hence raising property values, etc. etc.

Soccer fields in Nevada should be artificial turf and funded with the help of private donations. Why should I pay for other family's entertainment when I don't have children that use it myself? looking for more free stuff. Sounds like socialism to me.

As for " 100 new restaurants, shoe stores, and dress shops" that would never happen in Pahrump. Our town simply lacks the economic structure for what everyone in this town seems to be the most afraid of. Just because someone posts on a facebook page they would like to see a new Kohl's in town, does not actually mean that Kohl's would be stupid enough to build one in this town.

The same people that suggest they want all these big box stores in town, are the first to run to Vegas or California to go shopping, taking the sales tax money and chance of job growth with them. Everyone is afraid of the big box ghost. I hate to tell you this, ghosts do not exist. They just scare you.

I've even heard people say "Wal Marts in Las Vegas are so much better" which simply proves no matter what this town has, some will never be happy. All Wal Marts are shit holes, ours actually is nice compared to most.

Don't know Gnads, toss me a link and I'll look. I remember conversations better than I do names of the board.
