I think it means Pele's pissed off at the Strykers coming to roost on her backside.

Hmmm lotsa volcanic activity lately, lotsa vog, lotsa ash, glowing images from the lava pit...hmmmm I think Halemaumau's gonna hurl!

But hey I'm not a volcanologist, just someone who thinks that increased volcanic activity plus a glowing spot at the bottom of the pit is a good indicator that something major is about to happen and me thinks it's gonna be big.

This is so reminiscent of the prelude to Mt. Saint Helens. Lotsa vog, lotsa explosions then the big one.

It's kinda like the Titanic. Hit an iceburg but don't tell the passengers of the danger because heaven forbid we don't want to start a panic.

I could be wrong (and I hope I am) but it seems pretty clear to me Pele is up to something and it probably isn't just gas. I think she's gonna #2 real soon.

Craig, Call me crazy, but you sound more like a volcanologist Wannabe...what did you say your credentials are? Sorry, I couldn't resist the play on your name...actually, you are pretty funny. When are you leaving the island?

I want to say that crazy or not, this is not the time to play with slurs and degredation. We are all on this planet together and to be able to breath is our human right. Mother nature, Pele, whatever is trying to make a statement. If i leave for lack of oxygen, stay away from my ohana or may Pele devour your childrens children.
