I would like to know if the people of Marshville would like to start some neighborhood watch programs?
I think we need something in place to inform the Police on whats going on around town. Any thoughts? |

It is a good idea. I am one for it. I think it will be good to get the whole community involved. I really worry about the young people and keeping them out of trouble. Shootings and drugs are everywhere these days. It don't just stop with adults. Children are pulled in also. Where do we start? Neighborhood watch is a good beginning.

I think everyone needs to watch out for each other in Marshville these days. It wasn't this way just 5 years ago here, but now there are thugs walking the streets and neighborhoods no matter where you live. They don't belong in a town like ours.

Marshville is awash in thugs??????????

"The Hill" in Wingate is a crime watch area according to the Sheriff's Department. We've got 4 Crime watch areas in Marshville. Look back in the archives of this site and you can find a post about sex offenders in Marshville complete with a link to a state site showing where they live.

This is a wonderful idea-I hear your reinstated officer has done this type of work before. I understand the council directed the chief to get him involved in this type of project to assist the citizens-I am sure with his experience he would be a great asset and more than willing to help you with this-Great Idea-If you have any additional questions or comments contact your council or chief of police. |

1 Mrs Johnson wears her dresses way to high. I hear she's been running around with men and going wild. Bobby Taylor has asked her for a date seven times. His wife sure seems to use a lot of ice when he's away. Widow Jones needs to pull her shades all the way down. Mrs Kiker couldn't be here 'cause she stayed too long at Shooter's Bar again last night. And if you smell Frank's breath, you'll find he's had a little nip of gin. Then you have the nerve to tell me you think that as a mother I'm not fit. Well, this is just a little Peyton Place and you're all Marshville hypocrites |

Proud tax payer that reinstated officer is not a cop just another city employee. Tuesday he was a leaf raker,Wednesday he was a christmas light hanger and you want this guy to start a community watch group. BOY like to see those pictures.LOL

Oh well you sure have your facts straight or the The Home News is a lie-which one is it-the paper states he was reinstated as a police officer-I read the paper-so how can he not be a cop-and who put him to hanging christmas lights and raking leafs-sounds like something is wrong with this Watch Dog-and by the way what do you do for a living???? |
||||
What in the world are you talking about??? Nothing you have said makes a bit of sense- I still think the neighborhood watch program is a good idea-I guess your house hasn't been broken into yet- And I see nothing on this topic that says you are a unfit mother???? |

I believe that this guy your talking about is still in school. He has to finish before he can become an officer. I was at the meeting Monday when town council said "put him to work doing something he's getting paid for 8 hours and only at school for 2 hours.
Hope this clears things up for YA'LL. |

Women like you, they're a dime a dozen You can buy them anywhere For you to get to him, I'd have to move over and I'm gonna stand right here. It'll be over my dead body, so get out while you can 'Cause you ain't woman enough to take my man Sometimes a man's caught looking at things that he don't need He took a second look at you, but he's in love with me. Now I don't know where that leaves you, ah but I know where I stand and you ain't woman enough to take my man. |

So we are paying someone to be a cop who is not a cop. I don't know about you folks but I thought you went to school first and then you got a paying job.And how long have we been paying him to do what ever the other 6hrs. a day without working.Is he getting full pay for passing out pictures.

The Neighborhood Watch Program is a great program. It works well if the neighbors are organized and enthusiastic about being involved.
It isn't "tattle tale" on your neighbors. A lot of people are turned off by that conception. It is a network of neighbors who know what to do if criminal activity is suspected in their neighborhood. A large part of the Neighborhood Watch program is education. By meeting regularly and receiving information from the police department neighbors will know what to look for and how to respond properly to prevent crime. Sometimes just the knowledge that a vigilant and active Neighborhood Watch Program is in effect will cause lawbreakers to go somewhere else. The success of a Neighborhood Watch Program is dependent on involvement! |
