Maria its Universal not Union Health Care I worked hard for my Money. It’s not the Government that determines my outcome it’s me.
Those who think Government “is all to end all “whether than: if it’s to be it’s up to me”. Maria quit allowing yourself to be a victim! STOP: END IT TODAY!

Maria, you know you right. You know my definition of compassion is. If I have a sick mother and she’s unable to afford medical care I provide it. I don’t run to the Social Welfare Office and demand it.

Maria, I don’t think you ever earn a paycheck in your life you been spoon feed Liberalism, be accountable!

I agree Maria. Thanks, I am well. I don't have health insurance simply because it is too expensive. I carry high accident insurance on my cars and motorcycles, but as for health.... I am sure more programs will be instated with unemployment on the increase and wages falling off. The fact is, if insurance companies would lower their rates, more people would join, and they would still be making the same profit. They don't lower them because they don't want potentially chronic participants.

and that is where the government has to step in democrat or republican...if the american public has to suffer ...and cant afford the health coverage ..or insurers just opt out insuring folks because of pre exsisting conditions ..and in the end the government has to take care of those folks ..than iam not seeing the bennefit!!!for america or americans .....i hope something gets done and you can buy health care ....good luck to you .......because now we are bailing out huge insurance companies that apparently cant make money even if they have all the advantages american capitalism affords them ..like not giving insurance to the actual sick....when are people going to wake up to this farce .....

Thanks, Maria. One of the problems in the insurance "racket" is the doctors and the technicians that misuse the implements at their disposal to drain more money from the patient. the next time you go to the hospital or your doctor, take a look at who all is getting a piece of the action. I know a guy here in the office who had his x-rays sent by the lab up to Connecticut to be looked at. That happened to be the 3rd tech to look at them and send a bill. He lives here in PA. The doctors, labs, hospitals, technicians all abuse the patients with unneccessary tests and reviews. That is part of the problem and part of the reason health care is so expensive.

Of course on the other side, huge malpractice awards for a missed diagnosis make multiple unneccessary tests and reviews a neccessity for the doctors.

One thing you missed there in the cost of medical care. That is the lawyers that sue for malpractice at the drop of a hat. There are legit times to sue but the lawyers go overboard. A woman gets a small 2" scar in an area that is not readily visible and she sues for millions of dollars and gets it. It is outrageous. A friend of mine that happens to be a dentist and he had to join a group of other dentists rather than stay in his own private practice because of malpractice insurance. A big step toward cutting medical costs would be to cap malpractice awards.

It's funny, reading this thread, and of course, it always gets back to slavery. Funny part about the history of slavery is how it has been re written over the centuries.
Seems to me that white folk back in the day had slaves because they were too lazy to work their own fields. So, they had to pay someone to "trade" in slavery.
This is the part where the white slave traders come into play. They went and "purchased" African people for the slave owners.
Ironically, those that actually fed the demand, BLACK AFRICANS WHO KIDNAPPED/SOLD RIVAL TRIBAL MEMBERS, get a free pass for their very important role in slavery. Seems to me that you take away the supply, you can't feed the demand. Just a brief economics class there for all of you.
I never owned a slave; never sold, bought, traded for, or even borrowed one. I don't feel guilty for a damned thing, and say that we should move on and get over it. TODAY'S problems, crime, welfare abuse, etc. should be what we are all talking about. A good book for everybody to read, written by a black man, is called IT'S OK TO LEAVE THE PLANTATION, and really, folks, it is.
Agreed.

Absolutely correct. the justice system is plagued by frivolous lawsuits. My daughter is an attorney, and she refuses to take case that are based on bilking the system. Greed is an ugly thing.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Aries

There is a strong focus on career and parental matters today. You need to be cautious regarding your dealings with someone in authority - things may not be what they seem. This is also a good day to spend time with your partner. Communication in general should prove to be smoother sailing than usual so this would be an opportune time to discuss delicate matters with others. Good news in the evening is indicated.
