My idea will create $250,000,000 to $500,000,000 more in income for the State Of Missouri. Currently you the state is paying for 2 people to perform the job of one person in which is ridiculous. Currently you have a Assistant Warden that oversees the Classification Department of each Institution and when the staff has issues they mainly report to the Assistant Warden instead of the Function Unit Manager to whom is their immediate supervisor. This is done due to the fact that the Unit Manager is either covering for the Assistant Warden or performing other special projects. Although a many were directed to report directly to the Assistant Warden.
****My proposal is as listed below**** 1)Eliminate all D.O.C. Institutional Unit Managers. 2)Instead of having 2 Associate Wardens performing the job of one. Eliminate one Associate Warden position and have one Associate Warden to oversee the daily issues concerning of the offender, staff issues as well as operational issues. 3)How long can the state's governing body continue to turn a blind eye of the waste of tax payer's money to fund positions in the Department of Correction's Central Office that have no justification for their existence. 4)Eliminate the states personal property tax by increasing the license plate fees by a extra $20.00 to $30.00 to ease the burden on residents of this state when thinking of purchasing that next vehicle allow car dealers to collect sales tax on motor vehicles, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, trailers and all other power sport and water sport vehicles. Do you realize that Missouri is of one of a few state that continue to require that their residents continue to pay personal property taxes on goods that they had previously paid for. To which means that as this practice persists then we as residents can never have complete ownership of our personal property due to these tax burdens. These suggestions were derived from researching how other states are operating their budgets during these hard times when states are feeling the crunch concerning their budgets. Maybe the taxpayers should be asked if they want to continue to allow their money to spent this way when we are experiencing a reduction of jobs, cuts in government programs. |

Maybe I am mistaken, but isn't this a business college, and as such, wouldn't it seem likely that you would have at least learned how to type, and maybe basic english and spelling skills? Maybe that is why they "are kick me out the programs"! |

I am writing you on a concern about questions regarding negglect in education. I have a child that have been negglected because of his disibility. I have a teacher that has hit him, she has read his IEP, she's not meeting his accomondations, goals, and from my understanding they have not even read his IEP. The teacher has him sitting by hisself while th other children are in groups with each other. I have went to the board. I guess they are working together trying not to help me. They are not teaching him anything. I had to get a private tutor so that he can learn. She came to the school 3 times a week. She too has notice the negative talking and so on. She says when she walks in the room he is sitting of to hisself while the other kids are doing they lesson. She doesn't give my son the work material because she states he can't do it, he is to far behind. With a child with an IEP they should'nt do that. In fact noone should be treated this way. Please help resolve this situation.

Dear Mr. Davis,
I need to let you know that I disagree with the people who feel the new trash collection is a waste of money. Everyone that I have talked to in the 63146 area is very happy with it. It costs us half as much as we were paying before and we only have one company driving up & and down the streets once a week instead of half a dozen different carriers every day of the week. With the excellent recycling pick up I find that I only have one little bag/week going to the landfill. I certainly hope that our excellent County Executive keeps this program going. Sincerely, Claudia Uccello |

I am a homeowner at least paying a mortgage. I lost my job in June and started collecting unemployment and I fell behind on my bills I tried to talk to my lenders about my payments and they were not listen I finally got into a loan amorization program but all it did was put me further in the rear.
I have tried to pay as much as I could when I could /finally one particular loan company ask me if I was concerned about my credit report/rating that I would have a judgement against me . I told the lady who in their right mind would worry about credit when you do not have a roof over your head . she implied that a credit rating with a judgement is not a good thing. first of all I told them that I was entering into a debt solution program and they would handle the just of things . she informed me that this was a bad ideal. so instead of trying to keep a roof over my head they would like for me to pimp myself out and pay them . I asked was this what she meant. then I told her i was going to contact Elliott Davis she immediatedly called me baack and I just would dnot answer the phone . I need help not conselling about how I got in this mess I am tryiong to pay back as much as I can as soon as I can. thanks for listening |

Elliot, I am a resident of St. Charles City. I have friends with the police department and the sheriff's department. Recently I've been told about some questionable spending plans for the upcoming year. 6 years ago, the police agencies formed a regional swat team, and from what I've heard, it has been very successful. They have a brand new armored vehicle, state of the art equipment and manpower, most of it financed through grant and seziure funds. Now I'm being told that Mayor York wants to pull her officers out of the regional team, and form her own unit using city money. I just don't see why, other then to say "I got my own team." I just don't know if this is responsible or even neccessary. Maybe you can ask some questions and get answers that we residents can't. Thanks!!

Just let me say I'm so disappointed to know that Elliott truly only gives one side of the story in his "You Paid For It" segments. On the segment shown last night regarding the new artificial turf at Francis Howell High School, I think it is shameful the way the cameras conveniently cut away from our board representative as he was trying to give an explanation of why the turf was made a priority before other construction. Elliott insinuated there was wrong doing on the part of our school board, when in reality if he would've played the whole interview, the public would've had a clearer picture of why this turf was put in. As a taxpayer in the district, I am thrilled that my tax dollars went to something useful that students across the district will benefit from. When sports or band events scheduled at other schools in the district would be cancelled because of inclement weather, they can now move them to Francis Howell's turf field. This has already happened several times at my son's high school. For the real story, go to Francis Howell's website at www.fhsdschools.org It is the main story on our home page. In the future Elliott, why not give your prey a fair opportunity to explain their actions. Otherwise, you just come off as a bully.

1 Here lately, though, it seems to me that he is barking up a lot of coonless trees. Please take into consideration that government officials such as Governor Quinn of IL, would be paid many millions for running any other organization or enterprise with a budget the size of the state of IL. I know it was illegal, but can you blame guys like Blagoiavich for wanting to make a few bucks after working for next to nothing for so darn long, while guys with similar qualifications have been making 5x the dough? I can't. Governor Quinn is likely paid less than $200,000/ year! So please stop sweating him and others over relatively minute expenditures such as propellor-driven plane rides. You gotta admit Elliot, the guy kicked your ass by not only SAYING that he stays at Super 8, but actually PULLING OUT A Super 8, frequent guest DISCOUNT CARD. That was the political equivalent of a bucket of water on your smoking gun. You should have begged his pardon and pulled right back out of there. People deserve to be paid a decent wage for their work, Elliott. Yourself included. Sincerely, HEAD_START Cc: E.Davis |

Elliott...I am requesting that you investigate the Laclede Gas Company policy on late fees.
They were charging my daughter $60.00 a month for being late. She is a single mother with two children. Her bill got up to $800.00 and at least half was late fees. My church tried to get them to drop late charges for us and they would not. Why would a company that has a monoply here in St. Louis charge so much for late fees and continue, knowing quite well, people are struggling now. |

Dear Mr. Davis,
I am writing specifically on behalf of my eldest son who is currently serving a mandatory six-year sentence with the MO Dept of Corrections for a first time offense. His current plight is not unique. Draconian mandatory sentencing laws exacerbate much of the overcrowded conditions in today’s prisons. In my opinion justice is not being served fairly and equitably and many young people are being tied up in the system far beyond what is necessary for rehabilitation and reintroduction into society. Similar situations are occurring throughout the country. I would ask that you look into the matter as it pertains to Missouri in particular. |
