St. Louis County to start trash collection districts despite defeat of bill

I am a resident of Trash District 1 whose service
has been awarded to IESI trash haulers.I want to know why a hauler was awarded a contact whose yard waste pickup services are going to cost $4to $5 dollars a month more than the other trash haulers who have been issued contracts.
I found the information on a St.Louis County website.It seems St.Louis County is not concerned that the trash hauler can make up money lost on trash pickup.This will cost more than it does now

I'd like to know why we have to contract with a Canadian company?! It seems we could find someone in the good ol' USA, possibly even St Louis who could handle the job.

Is there any way we can still contract our own waste hauler?

IESI just throws my cans and broke off the wheels the first day of service!

They charged me for "optional yard waste" pickup that I told them in advance I did not want. I called their customer service to tell them I didn't want it and they were rude and told me to deduct it from the bill and send the balance. Now they tell me (and the County government) my account is deliquent!

This is outrageous!

I am a VERY conscientious garbage/recycle type. IESI is a nightmare. Where is O'Mara on this issue? We need to be able to show proof of a contract with another hauler and opt out of this draconian, forced policy. It destroys property values further when we have garbage strewn in the yards and can sleft unemptied, et al.

I would like to know when and how we can select another trash hauler. The IESI folks are horrendous. They are trashing up the neighborhood with wasted garbage. They come at various times of the day...no consistency. They've left my trash in the cans on numerous occasions where I've had to call them back out to pick it up. They continuously charge me for a cart I don't have and are also sending me notices that my account is past due. How can we get rid of these jokers?

Im in 63034. My trash doesnt get picked up then I call, they tell me my bill hasn't been paid. I have copies of the checks that I paid with. And if I hadn't paid why did you pick up the last week (when you did come on the wrong day) The only I can do is keep the trash out there and hope that it gets picked up? Readers look on yahoo local reviews for posts like this but you have to search the company name as this business isn't even in our area code. How do we change this?
