It's catching on.
Have you seen this story? Petitions from 22 states, including Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee, have been submitted on WhiteHouse.gov that asks the federal government to allow each state to withdraw from the United States. One state, Texas, has reached the required signature threshold to receive an official response from The White House. Should the Obama administration publicly address these petitions? Do you think this is a reasonable way for people to respond to the outcome of a presidential election?- Josh Morgan - WPSD Local 6

Petition for Texas to secede from US reaches threshold for White House response

An online petition that calls for the state to Texas to withdraw from the U.S. and create its own government on Monday reached the required signature threshold to receive an official response from The White House.

This is ignorants, Instead of trying to make our Nation more Unify, You have a few Trying to start Trouble. I Didn't vote for Obama, But I'm not going to waste my time Whining about it. Time to move on. If you want to Protest something They should be signing a Pettition to Boycott Mainstream Media.

ABSOLUTELY Ridiculous!!!!!! Agree with Unity's post. If the state you live in secedes from the union, then as a citizen of said state's we should have the right to vote on secession and the states should be responsible for relocating anyone that does'nt agree with the secession. Then and only then would I vote for such a proposition. One of the most stupid ideas I have ever heard. Plus do you ignorant people that want this realize that it would split the nation and make the U.S. very weak. Sounds like a bunch of ignorant people to me.

Could point out there is no Escape Clause in the Constitution, or that the last time states tried to secede it didn't turn out so well for them.

On the upside, JetBlue will still help the disgruntled leave the country at a discount.:-)

What is there to secede? That's reflects the stupidity of a few,. We elected our president and end of story, is very sad how some extremists are still flapping like a fish outside the water,

"...It is the manifest determination of the American people that no State, of its own will, has a right or power to go out of or separate itself from, or be separated from the American Union; and that, therefore, each State ought to remain and constitute an integral part of the United States..."

End of story!

Who writes these headlines? 22 states did not petition to secede. People in 22 states began petition drives.

It is not "the states" who want to "run away." It's some crackpot extremists within the states who signed a web petition. Photos of cute kittens on Facebook get more positive responses faster.

I think that it was only a matter of time before the country began to fall apart. Its not a good thing that Obama is back in office, in my personal opinion. This country hasnt gotten better since hes been in office its gotten worse. However, despite the fact that i am unhappy with the outcome I think succeding from the union is a very bad idea. We should unify against Obama, not tear ourselves apart. We as a country would become too vulnerable against other countries and that may be the thing that starts a new world war. This is just my personal opinion based off facts.

Don't dignify these idiots with an answer better yet cut state funding for those wishing to secede. It's always sour grapes from the right when they lose. They won't put their partisan feelings aside to better the nation. Like trump wanting to march on Washington, the election was fair you lost getnover it. Hey Donald would election still been a scam if Romney won?

This was the first idea I had on Wednesday. Let the blue states have their Obama and ruin. Red states unite. Let's have prosperity and no Obamacare. Freedom! Informed people unite.

Good thing geniuses like you have little to nothing to do with important decisions. Both sides of the aisle realize how harmful this would be to our country. People like you hate your own country and would rather see it fall than succeed. You are scum of the country.

People like you are happy to go along with the status quo. You have no real thoughts. All you can do is name calling.

Get over yourself. You're not original. You've been done before. You hope to be the wrench that ruins it all for everyone else. You'll never be that important.

Ask New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Virginia how that hurricane is working out for them. Ask if they could of handled it by themselves. But hey, who needs FEMA right?

Exactly, who needs FEMA. Not people with any kind of a brain. You are the type of person that would probably need FEMA.
