Does anyone know if Anthem and Jackson Purchase Medical Associates have come close to resolving their differences or do I have to haves records moved to a new doc soon? Been going there many yes. I wish they would get this fixed soon.

I think it is a done deal. Each year a provider can participate with an insurance co. or opt out. I guess the docs opted out. They can not just willy nilly be reinstated. I think it was a bad business decision. I am a local medical professional, and I guess they are just not making enough money (in their eyes). As for my office, I think Anthem reimburses at an average rate. It is always a fight for docs to get paid from the insurance co. In most jobs you don't do the work (at least not for very long) if you don't get paid your wage. As a physician, you do the work and hope to get paid at sosme point in the future (without interest, I might add). In the process, claims get returned, denied wrongfully (sometimes rightfully), new insurance co. regulations require claims to be filed a different way, new govt. regualtions require a claim to be filed a different way.........and you may or not get paid sometimes as much as a year later. All the while you pay your employees, keep the office running, renew your license, pay your malpractice ins., treat your patients, and yes....worry about paying your bills. Just a glimpse of why these docs may be doing what they are doing.

The Docs around here all seem to live in really nice houses, so I guess they get paid one way or another! I have anthem and my child goes to a specialist there. I guess we r finding a new doc. It seems to me the other offices have no problem with them and they have decided to be greedy and try to play hardball with a very big company. They will lose because people will not go if they don't accept their ins. even with their small discount. I bet they take them next year! Like I'm sure they they will be sorry to let Dr.Cecil go! I'm done with that whole place even if they start taking anthem again.

I heard that they are still trying to work something out. I hope they do. If anthem has 6,000 patients going to those docs that's going to be lot of money to lose. Oh well, just at the mercy of bureaucracy as usual.

those rich ass doctors want Anthem to pay them more than all the other doctors around. Anthem said doctors in Paducah make more money than big city doctors and are hell to put up with. just look what they did to Dr. Cecil at their RediCare he tried to help patients but they fired him cause he wasnt making them enough money the hell with the patients.

why does everyone think the docs are in the wrong when they dont evn know the whole story. comon sense would make me believe that anthem blue cross has over 50 percent of the people in the area, that the docs woul dlose alot of money to leave them; so why would a group of docs leave the largest insurance comany and lose money if all they were was money hungry, greedy people. commonsense says they are leaving because the BIG insurance cokmpnay has so much power they can push areound doctors and hospitals and try to force them to take paymens lwoer than other ins companies. looks to me the docs are willing to take a loss to get anthem to pay fairly. big insurance companies dont care for people the docs do. i bet of you wnt to see huge multimillion dolar mansions and vaacation homes and lavish lifestyle you gcould look at the Anthem executives. the docs here dont live like millionairs i bet the anthme leaders are multimillionairs and i bet there more anthem leaders in louisville and franlkfort than there are docs in paducah.

I have talked with many of the JPMA folks, I can assure you that they will not miss Dr. Cecil. They will probably throw a party after he leaves as everyone there dislikes him. They have two additional doctors coming in to run Redicare who I hear will improve the type of medicine that is delivered there.

Anthem BCBS is owned by Wellpoint. I went on their website, and they made Net Income of $9 Billion last year (yes - that's Billion with a "B"). Their CEO made more than $13 million. I am shocked when I hear of people siding with Anthem over their trusted physicians. Yes - physicians make good money, but they take hospital call 24 hours a day, and most of them have debt of thousands of $ after 8 years of med school.

Well, unfortunately I won't be able to enjoy the new Redi Care because I am an Anthem BCBS patient and can no longer afford to go there when I need to. This is so frustrating to me and my family! Can they just work it out until next yrs open enrollment and let us pick a new ins co so we can keep our same docs.

If doc would bill in legit visits and not all the extra crap maybe insurance wouldn't be out pf this world. I never looked at by EOB till all this started and each visit would cost me a 20.00 copay and they would bill the insurance over 300.00 for a regular visit. No shots just talking. Getting refills. But now if I want to continue y business with them they will only charge me 85.00 for a visit. Something about that is fuc*** up!!! So I am gladly taking my business else where along with my children and husband and not to be back. I hope they SINK!!!

You have the option of going to Dallas Medical. Dr Cecil is moving his practice there in a couple of weeks and they do take anthem.

its as if anthem has paid people to get on this site and bash the docs. anthem Ceo 13 million.....nough said!!!
this is company making BBBBilions by paying docs and hospitals penniies in areas like WKY. people comlain aout docs, but whem your on a gurney and dying, you wold pay them anythig to save you. Anthem coe or anybody else at the big office making millipns would justwatch you die and think...well at least they died fast...cost us less.

If not Anthem doing the paying of people to support them then certainly Dr. Cecil has paid staff on here trying to drudge up some business for himself. Any person who would take Anthems side after they have raise their rates in this market every year for the last seven years is an absolute Moron!
