I know 2 mothers who abuse there young children and the baby's daddy's have tried to get custody. She thinks they should stay with the mother's who beat them (they are still babies under 1 year old). Both of those father's live in a stable home and are perfectly capable of taking care of their son and daughter. I think it's sexist. It happens this way all the time!
Well I know several fathers who have gotten custody of their children and have been there when a couple of them won. She weighed the evidence and put them in the better situation, which happened to be with their fathers.
I would never want her job. I can't imagine having to make the decisions that she has to make every day.

She is the biggest JOKE of a judge. She needs to stop drinking. does anyone know that she spends weekend in jail for a DUI. She stays in a jail not in McCracken County. Go figure. She has wrecked several lives. She doesnt deserve to be a family court judge.

Trust me I know the background of both families I'm talking about... One of the mothers beat her 1 yr old child and broke her leg and the other mother doesnt have anything to do with her child, she's too lazy to get off her ass to go see him! The judge knew all of that and still wouldn't give the fathers custody even though both fathers had a stable home and job!

Prove it!! I've been hearing that for years!!! Look what she has to deal with, some of the low lifes that are in there!!! Goodness!!! We are always getting dragged in for a modification & some of them are 55,000.00 to 100,000 or more behind. Those are the one that should be doing the time. Not the people that are less then 3,000 behind!!! Agreed, never would want that job!!!

as a kid whose living arrangments were
made by this woman, I told her myself that my father had anger issues and some drinking problems (both of which are fixed now) and that I wanted to stay with my mom. I was sent to live with my dad. so clearly she is not sexist.

Some of these comments are a joke. Probably someone who did not like her decision. I can say that I would not want to be in her shoes having to make the decisions that she has to. Have any of you actually sat in her courtroom and listened to some of the outrageous stories that come out of the mouths of some people. People go in there trying to fool the system. You can only do and decide what is right with the information that is provided to you. If you think the other parent isn't fit, you have to walk in there with proof not just saying they are. I don't know judge Sanderson, but have been in her court in the past.

I have been in family court several times. I have had both, good and bad experiences, from her rulings. I agreed for the most part. The one time she didnt rule in my favor was because she wasnt presented with the information she should have been. I have never been in trouble with the law, my ex on the other hand had. When we went to court to hear the final say on it, and I presented her with the information that should have been provided before hand, she was upset. I would hate to have her job! But since nobody else would run against her, what can we do?

This is not a good judge, and I've never seen this anything like her. I can't believe complaints have not been filed against her in the past.

I agree she has a difficult job. She hears some very horrible stories and accusations. However, I feel that most of the time she rules unfairly against males but that's just my opinion based off my observations. If you feel you've grisly been ruled against unfairly then file a complaint or file an appeal! Don't just post your frustrations on topix because that is not going to remedy the problem.

I've been told that an appeal is always a waste of money. Has this been your experience? Could you share how you file complaints? Thanks.

Google Kentucky Judicial Review Board and you should find the website with the information. Also, there is nothing wrong with writing letters to your state Senators, Congressman, and Representatives.

I have actually tried this route. They do a investigation and it's annomious but they question the judge and give her details but not names. Doesn't take to long for her to figure out who filed the complaint. If they dont find just cause to have her taken off the case and u need to go back to court, then she will be the one u go before again. And then I'm sure she will not be happy with u for sure and ur even more screwed. It wasn't worth the chance of losing again and going back before her again. Not sure what can be done.

That's something to worry about. It's to bad that there can't be an actual investigation into several past cases where she ruled inappropriately. It's not right, and something really needs to be done. It's very funny that you don't hear complaints about the other judges, just her. There needs to be a panel of judges that rule in family court. A child's whole life is at stake.

That is exactly how I feel. At least their should be at two or three family court judges to hear cases so u at least have a chance to see a different judge. Since there is only one in McCracken u r just stuck!!

You're insane. Her job is to follow the law not do do what she feels is right. She doesn't follow the law; therefore, she doesn't do her job. She ignores precidence, OAGs, and whatever she has to ignore to do what she "feels" is right.

We need a judge that is going to protect children. If there is any question whatsoever of abuse or past abuse, the judge needs to not rule on that day and request additional information. If one child is sent with an abuser, that is one to many. It's not enough to sit on the stand and listen and then decide one person doesn't have enough proof of the abuse that went or or to decide that you don't believe the person that is saying they were abused. The truth is you weren't there and don't know what went on behind those closed doors and there is no way to listen to a story and decide that it wasn't true. People go to court and they expect the courts to protect them and their children. The judge may make a wonderful friend. That doesn't mean that she makes a wonderful judge.
