office staff for doctors

have you ever noticed that the office staff are the worst part of a dr appointment? the doctors are nice, the nurses are nice, but the reception, scheduling and office staff are rude. they act like they are the doctors. their people skills are non-existent. i know they deal with the public all day and im sure they run into some real pains in the butt. that could make any one gripey. but im not talking about the person thats just having a bad day. im talking about the ones that consistently day after day are bossy, bitchy, rude condescending, power hungry, offensive jerks. my doctor told me that they(the doctors) never know how their office staff is treating patients and that practices can be ruined by rude uncaring front office people. so speak up. my brother is a dr nd when i run into these rude gals(yes unfortunately it usually is women, since they USUALLY are the majority of a doctors office staff), when i run into these rude women, they usually act like they own the place . they are the all knowing, all desicion making demi-gods. im here to tell these women "HEY YOU ARE NOT THE DOCTOR. MY BUSINESS IS WITH THE DOCTOR AND YOU NEED TO REMEBER YOU ARE OFFICE HELP, SO STOP BEING SO DAMN RUDE AND ACTING LIKE YOU ARE ALL POWERFUL. DID YOU GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL ALL THOSE YEARS, DO YOU HAVE THE STUDENT LOANS AND MALPRACTICE INSURANCE , DO YOU DO ANYTHING THAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO ACT LIKE YOU HAVE THE SAME AUTHORITY AND POWER OF THE DOCTOR? didnt think so. so start acting like you are the first people we talk to when we call to make an appointment, the first person we see when we show up tor the appointment or are the person we have to talk to if we have any follow up questions or concerns. you are making a horrible impression and act stupidly. you may think you are in charge of the world, but patients know better and we just tolerate the rudeness so we can see the doctor. your behavior reminds me of a 5 year old spoiled brat. it makes the doctors look bad. remember, who you are and what your job is. if you dont like the public get another job. i would be remiss if i didnt give the well deserved accolades to staff members that are great with people, do their jobs well and make you feel comfortable and welcome. to them i say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. to the bad ones i ask...when did you decide that PATIENTS ARE THE ENEMY instead of loyal clients?

Casey, I like this...i mean i really, really like this! I think those people are a bunch of burnouts and are simply tired of their job. that being said, the tend to take out frustrations on the patients. Especially the people that deal with insurance. Good post! Thanks!

I can agree with that!! That woman at the front desk with the crazy hair is almost always rude! I was there for simple follow-up bloodwork. I had seen Reitha on a previous visit. She told me when I came back for the follow-up blood work to tell them at the front desk so they could just take me back. I wasn't even seeing a doctor, just the guy taking the blood! I sat there for 2 hours before I ever got into triage! She told me that I would have to wait. I complained later to Reitha. She said that she would take care of it. There is no reason for her to act so bitchy! I explained my situation to her & she just ignored it. Her attitude is not a one time deal either.

Internal Medicine Group is terrible, the operators on the phone and the receptionists. Hateful people.
Oh well, no matter since they are losing 1/2 of their patients due to their greed and not getting paid more through Anthem.

Yes, it is. We got a list at work of all the doctors that are dropping Anthem and he's on it.

I fired him about 3 years ago. I'll never allow that man to care for my health needs again. I've never seen a more arrogant SOB in my life. Seeing him makes me want to throw up. i heard he treats his staff like sh!t, no wonder they're always moody. He has the worst bedside manner on the planet. He always wants to talk about his computer and crap that I could care less about, then when you begin telling him why you're there, he cuts you off like it really don't matter......I hope he screws something up and loses his license.

the receptionists front office help i find very rude are;
dr mcCombs appointment woman is a creepy power hungry woman
dr parrish front desk scale of 1-10 shes 10 and climbing
dr bodnarchuk desk and appointment person the absolute most crabby old bossy-butt ever. old crab.
