Dr. Nelson is first a human being, and second a Dr.
lets all be careful passing judgement before the facts are out. I know him and will be very surprised if this is true. But , if it is I have to think first he is human.

I also know the Dr personally and can say he is a very good person, with a very big heart. If this is all true I can only guess he's made a mistake. maybe he thought he was helping, maybe he was lied to or somehow manipulated by someone using him. So perhaps he had a big lack in judgement. Haven't we all? If he did break the laws, yes, he should have to deal with the consequences, but he's innocent until proven guilty. I know I'll be praying for the man.

It is not that I don't think someone should pay for a crime they have committed. It is that I think someone should be considered innocent until they are proven guilty. On here everyone has charged and convicted Dr. Nelson before due process has occurred. So glad we have a constitution to protect our rights. I don't know if he is guilty or not, but i believe he has a right to a jury trial if he is charged and arrested. Until then I will not past judgement.

Just sayin, you must not have a very good understanding of how the law works in this day and age. First of all, the DEA doesn't investigate someone b/c of a rumor they heard, they already have some type of hard core proof that that person is breaking regulations put into effect for the safety of the public. They don't say "oh, this doc looks fishy maybe we should suspend his priveledges to write narcotic prescriptions. Second, they can't suspend those priveledges until they at least have a reasonable suspiscion that he was doing something wrong. Granted someone is considered innocent until proven guilty when it comes to violent crimes, but breaking federal regulations b/c he thought he could get away with it is a whole other ballgame.

No I am not clueless as to the laws and how investigations are conducted. But I personally have no proof. I don't know that all these rumors are true. I also know how a story grows with each person that it passed through. So until I know for a fact these rumors are true, I choose to believe in someones innocents rather than thinking the worse of them. Do you believe everything you hear or do you listen and wait for real proof? I think best of someone until I am proven wrong. Not a bad way to live life---thinking the best of people. These rumors could be true, and if so, I feel he needs to be punished. Who knows---maybe tomorrow it will be on the news and everything will be public. And just think---you can get on here and say I told you so. But I choose to see the world in a positive way.

Well, I thought in your all knowing knowledge that you had investigated, charged him, had him arrested, and found him guilty in a jury of his peers. All you need to do is carry out the punishment.

To just saying: you are nice to wanna have proof. But at same time very niave. I agree rumors spread, get bigger etc. But there's usually some truth to it. Also DEA invovled. They didn't make up proof, I assure you. Good person/bad person, he did wrong and should be punished by the law. The way the rest of us would be.

I love how if I have a different opinion of the other writes it is because I am nuts, naive, uneducated to laws and procedures, clueless, and just plain wrong. Now that is an interesting way to look at life. You are right and everyone else is wrong.

All you want to do is argue! You are not making any sense so we will just stop giving you attention! These discussions are facts, and the facts will come out in a court of law! Also, if you will keep your tv tuned in to the news you should hear more about this issue soon. Then all you defending will prove how wrong you are!

I hope that Just sayin is still around when the news comes out with everything so i can say "hmmmmmm, told ya so". lol. i love saying that to people who are so oblivious to the truth. Some people dont want to believe the truth so they find every excuse on behalf of the offender to make the situation seem less than it is or make them look less guilty. I personally have said before, that he was a good dr. But he is no better than you or i and should serve the same punishment as any other person. I feel bad for him and his family but you have to serve your punishment for your mistakes. hopefully he wont do it again.@joke, funny you mention that, but his wife is actually not a bad looking lady. if i was her, i would be offended that he cheated on me with shannon. lol. but who knows what was going on in their personal life and their marriage. i feel sorry for his wife and kids. but back on topic of his crime, the DEA is not going to pull license w/out hard core proof. not just rumor. they dont operate off of rumors. so obviously there is something true about it all. im not so much worried about his personal life as i am the crime committed, although, i will say this. a dr that has a stable home life is going to have a more stable work life. which means that he will be totally focused on his job as a dr to take care of his patients. if you have a dr that has a rocky home life, then he is going to be focused more on that problem then taking care of his patients and that is putting lives in danger. so for the people that say that personal life is no ones business, well i agree to a point. but then again, i disagree because of the type of job that they have. drs have lives in their hands and need to have a clear mind.

Dr. Nelson will probably get less of a punishment than dr. Smith. Dr. Smith, while he violated te law, his mistakes only impacted himself. Dr. Nelson was a drug pusher to the whole community; his bad decisions adversely impacted everyone.

"Doctor, heal thyself". I guess there are a lot of people out there who will have to find a new doctor. Even if he can still practice, the DEA taking away his prescribing abilities will really limit him and if he can't practice at a hospital then he can't see any of his patients who might get admitted through an ER.

What is with all of the corrupt physicians in this area? Another problem is so many doctors are over run with patients and aren't accepting new ones. So, if you are a patient of Dr. Nelson's, what do you do? Abandoning your patients is just as much of a crime as what he has been accused of doing. Sad, sad situation.
