repairs over and over

Pontiac, IL

#1 Aug 24, 2010
I took my vehicle to Larry Meadows after I had an accident back in March. They fixed the truck and it looked good. Well, so I thought. It was raining the day I picked it up and couldn't really get a good look at it but they promised me they guarantee their work. I drove about 10 miles and when my passenger tried to get out she realized that the door handle on the inside didn't work. I drove back to their shop and had them fix this immediately. After a few days I was able to finally get a good look at my truck. Well, there was a large drip in the paint on the grill, the grill slats weren't painted black like it originally was, there was over spray on trim, they didn't replace a side sticker that I paid separately for them to do ("the guy working on it thought it was an extra," apparently he cant read their own paperwork showing work to be performed), they didn't replace ANY of the emissions or belt routing stickers that they assured me they make sure to replace.
I asked them to take care of this...oh sure, just bring the vehicle back in and drop it off and we will get it taken care of. Well, I had a rental car the first time paid for by insurance during the time they originally "fixed" my vehicle. I told them I don't have any way to do that since I work and have one vehicle. I got to wait for 4+ hours while they again repaired my vehicle while they never once offered to pick up the expense of a rental car for me for a day after I spent nearly $4500 there already.
A couple weeks later I got to looking at my truck again on a nice sunny day. Now I notice a spot starting to bubble on the door of my truck that they had sprayed. I talk to Joey and he tells me he will have to talk to the owner to see what they can do. A week goes by so I decide to stop in one day and see what is going on. I walk in and Joey and the owner are sitting around and he sees me and says "oh hey, sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet I've been busy." They weren't going to do anything for me because their must have been a tiny spot of rust on the door and they don't guarantee rust. I explained that I understood that but why would they clear coat over a spot of rust, had they told me I would have had them fix that too instead of causing an ugly bubbling spot on my door. Nope, still wouldn't do anything for me....this now being my 4th trip in for a vehicle they had for over a week originally. I will never go back to them again, and recommend everyone I know to stay clear as well.
Great talkers, but that's all they are. They don't stand up for their work and obviously don't give a crap about their customers who don't have brand new expensive car that needs repair. Their quality control is non-existent as proven by stuff anyone would have noticed on my vehicle. Collect the money and run would be a good description of these clowns.

My family has always used Larry Meadows for repair jobs on our vehicles. I have never heard a negative comment about Larry, Joey, or any of his employees. I have seen myself Larry go out of his way to help other customers, not just my family while I was in his shop. If your vehicle has rust in it odds are its pretty old..gosh vehicles dont rust until they are like what 20 or 30 years old??? You must be one of those people who either you cant make happy ever, want something for nothing, or think your 20 year old vehicle was just like new not a dent or scratch on the truck before the wreck. lmao I am sure that Larry Meadows Body Shop would rather not deal with people like you anyway..get some prozac.

Check with your insurance carrier. I know Allstate used to guarantee any work done by Larry Meadows. Your carrier may have a similar policy. Hope they make it right!

I have dealt with this business several times over the past few years due to having teenagers. They always did good high quality work with no complaints or problems from me. This last time was a completely different experience. Door seals were not put in, window trim missing, paint had to be touched up, wheel spindle bent and bearings crushed and not replaced, electric window motor not replaced even though cable was damaged, and more. Although they have repaired these items when called to their attention, the continual in and out of shop trips is really beginning to destroy the trust and respect for a job well done that I had.

Larry Meadows was trained partly by my Husband, but my Husband went in to get an estimate on some work on a vehicle and spoke to someone else and ended up telling that person that he had helped train Larry and that that person was trying to rip off people and1 job.

We have taken several cars to Larry over the past several years from accidents to deer collisions. Larry and his staff do great work! He works closely with insurance companies and delivers on time. I would not take our cars to anyone else.

You will not find a more honest and down to earth man than Larry Meadows. I trust him to do my body work and towing for me and my children. And no, I do not work for him.

My truck was taken there after a collision where it had frame damage it had to go back to them 4 times before they got it right. I will never again use them.Up until this point I had never had a problem with them it's a shame. I would still go back if they didn't act like I was the one at fault.

Have always used them and never had any problems. Had to take my truck back to them since it is a work truck and they made it right. Never one problem and have had several vehicles fixed by them.

Employees can get on here and say good things as well... this place does not do quality work they are in with the insurances co who send them work, and in return they do it for a lesser rate and use aftermarket parts whenever possible to make the INSURANCE co. happy, with no regards to the quality of the part and most of the time without the customers best interest in mind... they are the insurances co. side for sure... not yours!!!!!!!!!!
