Doesn't matter how many have the right to vote, everyone has the right to voice their opinion on the matter; whether for or against. Campaigning is the last recourse the disenfranchised have.

I have the right to vote and I am voting against it.

I do not know.a single person that does not have the right to vote.

I also don't know a single person that is going to vote for it.

If the PRO merger people were so willing to make every effort possible to STOP the James Marine Hotel, because they are afraid of competition,

then there is no chance we will trust the pro merger people with anymore power to stop more businesses from developing in the area.

PRO MERGER means anti-business unless the good ole boys insiders control it.

James Marine Hotel stopped by your local idiots is a prime example.

What does the Government has to do with the Merger when it's the people who will elect the canadate for each of the propose district. County people DON'T HAVE A SAY SO RIGHT NOW. How clear can that be. With Merger the County will have a say so. You talk about voting people out of office, But your scare to take that next step in having a Voice. This ignorants Boggles the Mind.
There are only certain people who will run for office and they are supported financially by the insiders. There is little competition for political office in the area so the insiders know they will control it. They have sound mechanisms for controlling who gets the power.

Anyone with money to invest in the area is blocked by the current insiders. This keeps political competition to a minimum.

This isn't rocket science, you just have a lot of corruption in your political system. People need to put forth the effort to clean up the mess.

What fantasy world do you live in? Van is one of the worst examples of someone who uses his position to exact "revenge" against those who do not support him. If a matter of importance is brought to his attention about possible improprieties that may be going on in the county, the first thing he wants to know is WHO is saying it, not looking into whether it's true or not. He is a vindictive, petty tyrant in my book!

Merge all you want. Jobs leave because of costs. You make the area bigger and more expensive, there go the jobs. Since duke and long were forced out by big oil, Paducah has been on the decline with a quilt of secrecy shrouding everything. Well quilt of secrecy and a blank canvas full of starving artists. Jim Smith dying, etc. Consolidation of the Post Office. The writing is on the wall. There is no one left qualified to bring or sell people on moving jobs here. The infrastructure is not conducive to an economy of labor. No one wants to pay taxes to work in McCracken or Paducah. That is why the surrounding areas are all in better positions to attract these places that hire. They are just too stupid and inept at bringing in places that hire.

Paducah's problem has always been the same. An elitest attitude that has produced nothing but fluff. Now they want the county to pick up the tab.

A bigger government would be a good reason for businesses and industry to stay away from the Paducah area.

The corruption causes unpredictability which = no investments by job creators.

unity since ur for this merger give us one thing to prove there will be one job created because of this cluster f**k. Or anyone that's for it, just prove there will be one job created because of it. Not counting all the useless government jobs it would make up.
