Where is the best place in Paducah to go for eye exam and glasses? If you do not have a vision plan.

Americas best is a chain and ran by a bunch of idiots. Eyewear express....right across the street from americas best. Locally owned by someone who has been in the businesses for years with a very thorough dr that does excellent exams. Guaranteed to either match or beat their prices!

they can cut your glasses on the same day too. i had a cousin who didn't want to get a new frame because she loved her old ones, and they just put new lenses in there and had it ready in a little over an hour. they can repair just about anything too.

Whatever you do, don't go to Doctor's Value Vision. They will CHEAT you. Based on my insurance, they initially told me $50 copay. This was a big fat elephant woman at the front desk. Then after we completed the order they handed me a receipt to sign that said $280!!! I wouldn't sign it and we had a round about that, during which I told them who quoted me $50, but elephant woman denied it to my face. They refused to change it. Only after arguing for awhile did I get to see a copy of their order. This is where I discovered that the doctor had ordered the most expensive contacts the place offered instead of the cheap ones I had been wearing successfully for 20 years. He knew full well I was disabled and on a fixed income with Medicare. Why he would secretly write a prescription for lenses that cost 10 times what I paid for 20 years is a mystery, unless you consider that it was done on PURPOSE to make money. Some businesses think that if a person looks old or that they perhaps might be easily scammed, that they can get away with this unethical behavior. This was the only provider listed with my insurance, so I had no choice but to follow through. After a lot of arguing, I got them to have the doctor change my prescription back to the same brand and style of lenses I was already used to wearing. They ONLY agreed to this after I threatened to call my medicare provider to tell them what the business they contracted with was doing to their patients. Elephant woman and her sidekick supervisor (who I demanded to get involved) acted like this was a huge ordeal and that they were doing ME a big favor. That brought the cost down to $80, and they still refused to honor the $50 price they had originally quoted as being my only required copay, claiming the extra $30 was a "fitting fee" (I had never agreed to), so having no other choice, I signed the receipt. When I went back a couple weeks later to pick up my order, I was the next one in line, but they kept ignoring me. After a little while I confronted them about my having to wait while others were waited on in front of me. Finally the big fat elephant at the desk who started all this mess told me she would get someone to help me. It took her 20 minutes just to get off her ass and call the tech girl from the back who then came up front and just handed me my box of contact lenses out of the drawer. Yeah, great customer service at that place.... I changed insurance companies and I will never set foot in that place again. Trying to cheat the elderly or disabled is shameful!
