Actually, if your ate just looking for something on the side for about 6 months, it would be good. No longer than that though. They do pay well for retail - for about 6 months, then you will start losing your pay.

The workers in the women's Dillard's ate super cool, but most of the older women in men's Dillard's are kind of bitter. Me and my boyfriend go in there all the time. Usually the polo section, but her and there he looks over in the urban section. We get the most displeasing stare downs and usually unneeded attention. It's like dang you guys should know us by now he comes in at least every other week for a shirt or pair of pants, bc he's building up his wardrobe. Idk what the deal is.

I mean how much are you supposed to spend? He's bought a $200+ polo vest, two $150+ sweaters,$70 jeans, and so on and so forth! Items in there are not cheap. But that's ok, we can start shopping online instead of going in the store. We work a lot anyway, will be much easier!

They don't care, and neither does that ahole store manager! He treats his people like crap and they in turn treat people that way. That place is a joke and full of drama! 2 close friends work there and you should hear the stories that I hear!

unless of course you work hard and make your sales. You can make up to and over 20 dollars an hour. Yes I agree, if you are not a driven sales person who thrives in a competitive work environment it is most definitely not for you. It is not your everyday retail environment. And while I am sure there are many individuals who don't seem to care, the majority are looking to build a relationship and make sure you enjoy every bit of your shopping experience!!

You my friend are mistaken. The sales people are not trying to go out of their way to make u happy. They are trying to get you to buy things so they can meet their sales quota and not get a pay cut. Yes honestly they don't care if ur happy. If they don't meet their sales quota multiple times they get fired.
It is to the point where the workers steal sales from each other isn't that sad?!
He's not your friend dipshit. How can he be wrong about how he feels.

That's correct. It is possible; a far, far, stretch but, possible. The bigger stores in other areas, sure. Here, don't think so. IF, there any employees left there (just in sales) that make that, its just VERY few. I can think of 3 that did and one of them left b/c of the manager before the current one. Not to mention they all had been there since the doors had opened. I know that whoever you are, are going to argue about this reply, however you seem to be singled-out with your opinion. I do not think that everyone who has a complaint about working there are slackers, who are not driven and motivated to be successful. When you work and do as much as you can and its never enough, its easy to just have all that motivation sucked out of you.

I've worked for this sh*thole for about a month now. They stuck me in the Men's Shoe department which is the absolute worst area to work. I have a quota of selling $125 per hour, yet there are days when I'll work a 7 hour shift and less than 5 people will come by my department... not stopping to look at shoes, but simply WALK BY my department on the way to the restroom! Plus there's the fact that I live in Utah and the entire store is like a ghost town on Sundays, which I have had to work every Sunday since being hired which has made my SPH quota tank even further. Needless to say I have NEVER made my daily quota, not ONCE. I mean seriously how am I supposed to sell $1000 of men's shoes each and every day when nobody walks by my area?! All you people saying "If you work hard you'll get sales and have a great career" just TRY IT! Try working in my area. Making people appear out of thin air is harder than you think. I have much more negative things to say about Dillard's, like the fact they dont care if they schedule you during days when you have school, and missing work on those days for college is not an acceptable absence, but I've wasted enough of my time writing about this horrible company.

You must be one of the management ass kissers yourself. I, personally, worked directly for June. She was"alright ". I would never say she "rocks". She (and yourself) must be 2 of the "ass kissers" yourselves.

If u happen to walk in on mangers having sex be prepared to be fired or worse. Cooperate was contacted and nothing was done. The person that caught them was fired. Not to mention they would try to accuse anyone is stealing. That is what happened to a manager when I was their. I know they accused a lot of people of stealing without proof. Cooperate wouldn't do anything about that either

There was a blonde girl named Hannah that rang me up the other day. She was a total snooty bitch. I was polite and patient with her, but she was just down right rude.

Dillards is a horrible job choice. It's a fine place to shop, but a lousy place to work. The idea of management is flood with sales floor with associates and let the sharks have at it.The result is usually good for the customer because they get lots of attention, but very frustrating for a hard working person who's biggest obstacle to success is the uneventual selfish co worker.
If you're a nice person who tends to treat your co workers with respect,Dillards is not the place for you.
Yep Dillards is the worst place in the world to work management sucks, your just another number to them, I worked hard to keep my numbers up and they still let me go I meant nothing to them

It's a dog eat dog place to work they turn their own employees against each other, because everyone has to keep a sales quota you have to step on each others toes just to keep your job. It's not a good place to make a career, unless you are in one of the specialized areas like coach, they get all the sales to themselves.
