I am all Anthem Blue Cross won't be accepted any longer at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Paducah. I love my Docs there. Dr Pittard and Delarosa. I called my employer to ask what happened and also called JPMC but they are at a standstill there and got the voicemail at the employer. Open enrollment is over so now what am i going to do? Anyone who is affected by this needs to start complaining to their work place and insurance co. Apparently JPMC is losing money bc Blue Cross doesn't pay enough on their claims???

ummm. I don't think they are losing money on Anthem...but I don't think they are making as much as they want to make. Greed may be in the way here. There are other doctors around...and I remember about 8 or so years ago when all the orthopedic docs in town would not take Anthem for the same reason. It will all blow over in time. Seek another physician.

No, i don't want another physician. Its been really hard for me. I had cancer and have been cancer free for five yrs but i don't trust docs in general, They can be scary. I like my docs because we have built a great relationship over the yrs. They are so nice and have a way of putting things to keep the possibility of my cancer returning from scaring the bejesus outta me. If i gotta take out a loan i will. Until next yr when open enrollment rolls around. Then i will go elsewhere as our employer has several options.

Well that is fine....a word to the wise though. If there are pre existing conditions....I have 2....I cannot get another company. So I have had Anthem now for about 15 years, and I cannot let them go because I cannot get any other health ins. So even though my premium goes up a lot every year, I have to bear with it until we get rid of Obama (I pray) and get some real health care reform. So don't give up your Anthem until you have an agent submit an app. to another co. for you and find out therir final decision. Best wishes

I love dr pittard and it offends me for someone to cut down someone who has been excellent at seeing me through a potentially fatal disease. I got through it emotionally and physically and that is what a doc is for. Please be careful what you say.

It is alot of money hungry doctors. That is why Dr Cecil is leaving. He would rather treat the patient than collect all the money. They make up the reimbursement on other insurance and Medicaid, redicare, to equal it out. I have worked in the field long enough to know. Anthem is a big loss, so to cut them they are willing to lose alot of their patients. I have over 15 family members on anther and will be leaving dr bowman-stroud and that group. That is a big hit!!

Why is everyone acting like all the cowboy heroes just rode out of town?

Do you think it's rather odd that all the medical facilities pulling out are in the building owned by Lourdes Hospital? If anyone is money-grubbing, i would think they were.

I feel badly for the good doctors who rent space there.

However, there are plenty of wonderful MDs in the THREE doctor office buildings beside Western Baptist Hospital, and scattered about in the city.
good luck

JPMA is NOT owned by Lourdes. They simply rent their offices from Lourdes.

1) jackson purchase medical center (jpmc) is in mayfield not Paducah, moron.
2) it's not even jpmc that's dropping anthem. It's Jackson purchase medical ASSOCIATES. They have no affiliation with JPMC what so ever. JPMA includes:

The Internal Medicine Group
Western Kentucky Kidney Specialists
Redicare
Paducah Endocrinology
Paducah Family Medicine
Paducah Rheumatology
Four Rivers Clinical Research
Ballard County Medical Clinic

Dr Cecil is the most money hungry doc in Paducah - you are drinking from the wrong information fountain if you believe what he is saying. He puts on a good front to the public but in reality he enjoys putting your money in his bank account.

Dr. Cecil might be on top list for being money hungry, but my vote for "most" money hungry is that arrogant ba$tard, David Stricklin...just my opinion...

Does anyone know if Anthem is going to work on coming to an agreement with the associates at Jackson Purchase Medical Associates in Paducah? I really hope they get this worked out because i will have to do something different for a doc if they don't.
I hear Dallas Medical has sent out letters about two dr.s who can't write prescriptions on this insurance too. What are ppl going to do?
